my prom on 30th may :D

awwwwwww

good luck!!!!!!!!

have lots of fun :D:D:D:D

thank you for pointing that out lore. i have been wanting to say that to him for so long.

gosh nick i'm sorry but you know. i've read a ridiculous amount of your posts where you rely on a superb social life to be happy, and alcohol to keep you entertained.

it's your prom. if you thought your prom would be all about getting smashed and having a piss up, then you're more deluded than i thought.

it's not all about the social scene and it's not all about alcohol. broaden your horizons buddy...

Yeah, well without a superb social life there really isnt much else.....Lifes all about social things, from when you're born til you die, unless you want to be a hermit or someone everyone hates. it has nothing to do with horizons but a realistic view on life.

but maybe you should try your best in to have a better social life.. and it's not all about social aprobation... you don't need to be the most popular to have a good life.. just to have some good friends and things like that

life it's about so much things.. not just social aprobatio.. look outside nick... there's so many great things out there

There is, but without a good social life theres really nothing else. everything relates back to it. it isnt about being popular. im not very happy all the time with my social life but atleast i get to hang out with the best of the best.

and why try to hang out with the best of the best.. you just need to be yourself and hang out with your real friends.. with real people who knows you and not with all the popular and usually superficial ones...

and there's a lot else ... you need to open your eyes

exactly exactly exactly.

when i said this:

it's not all about the social scene and it's not all about alcohol. broaden your horizons buddy...

i obviously didn't imply; be a reclusive freak who doesn't see the light of day... :curtain: that is perhaps the most ridiculous interpretation of that.

i'm saying: it's not all about doing things to be appluaded by others in public. you don't need to 'piss up' or pretend to be pissed off your arse. you don't need to do things to gain you recognition to be with the 'in' crowd or be 'popular'.

obviously alot of things do revolve around your social life, and when i mean that, i mean that you have a good bunch of friends, you enjoy yourself, you take time out, and you're street smart about it all.

all i'm saying is, exactly what lore was saying. it's not all social approbation. broaden your horizonsss buddddy. please. it's killing me.

totally agree with bonita... and I guess I have nothing else to say

and why try to hang out with the best of the best.. you just need to be yourself and hang out with your real friends.. with real people who knows you and not with all the popular and usually superficial ones...

and there's a lot else ... you need to open your eyes

the world does not work like that. maybe in a fairy tale.

maybe your world does not work like that... maybe you live in a superficial and stupid world when all you need is social aprobation..

world is more that that... at least for me

you need to grow up

No offence, but to me you seem like one of those typical characters in American TV shoes.

I mean, do you seriously believe that lifes all about hanging around with the "cool" people, Jocks right? Going out and getting pissed is the only way to have fun? :dozey:

Exactly. The world isn't perfect. It's really hard to find quality friends nowadays.

Leave him alone, I know where he's coming from.

And why does the world hate America again? Oh yeah, I forgot it's because we pay about 80% of the U.N.'s bills. Sorry bout that one!

I find this thread pretty interesting, it portrays different life dynamics really well. I, myself, am a fairly social person. I don't rely on booze, drugs or sex however to have a nice time. I don't judge character based on that, and FOR ME (ALERT: OPINION) by doing that you simply have low self esteem and underlying problems. I go to proms. I dance with my friends. I have a lot of fun. I go home after them, I go to sleep, and I wake up all nice nice in the morning.

Other people go out, get drunk, get laid. They wake up gross the next morning but "fuck, that was a slammin' time yo". I just can't understand it... I have a better time reading a book, going to a concert, playing my bass guitar, than drinking. I got pissed as fuck on New Years Eve this year (all alone, mind you) and I swear I never want to do that again. How pointless. Maybe it would have been more fun if it were a party with a bunch of people, but I really don't think so. I know people who think dry humping some random stranger at a party is cool. What's the excuse for it all? Vodka, or tequila. It's all just a phase. I guess it's alright for now, partying and having that outlook on life. But eventually there are two paths. You calm down and get a "clean" life, or you become a stoned alcoholic with no real love in your life. If someone can present me with the middle road, I will really like to see it (because I may want to take it myself LMFAO).

People who get drunk at social outings piss me off. Some fuckers were drunk at my school's Winter Ball. They threw ice cubes at me. It almost ruined my night, I didn't let it though. I knew they weren't singly targetting me (I hope...), but it did make me stop dancing and leave after that. They were totally off their heads, I just didn't understand it. And don't even get me started on the idiots at the two Coldplay concerts I went to. They think they can have a good time with an artificial automatic happy substance. Sadly, it's at the expense of everyone else. And they have nooooo clue. It's really very sad.

Whatever, it's obvious that people are raised with different values and backgrounds. It just makes me sad, that's all....

Maybe for you, but that has nothing to do with being immature. the world means different things for different people. some its all about religion, some all about war, some all about politics, some all about social issues, some all about food....just because i focus my life on a different thing then you does not mean i need to grow up.

No offence, but to me you seem like one of those typical characters in American TV shoes.

Im buddy buddy with the jocks but i dont hangout with them, except the captian of the football team. Its all about being with cool people, as in popular wise and with their personality. those people are "popular" because they are better then the rest, top of the line people. i only want to surround myself with the best and funnest people, they are popular and "cool" because they earned it because of who they are. its about being with higher class people instead of trashier ones.

because drinking relaxes most people, people are alot more chill and open at parties. and its a great place to meet lots of new people. half the people i talk to or know now i met or became better friends with them because of drinking and parties. its a way to make friends and become closer to some people.

but my point is..

what if suddenly the popular people stop hanging out with you....

and if you act like now..and just focus on social life..

you'll feel terrible.. for a stupid thing.... seriously you need to grow up.. as sambo3000 said, you look like stupid high school guys in american tv shows...

I was just thinking that if you need to drink to have people hang out with you and to have a good time, doesn't the question arise in yourself "why exactly are they friends with me anyway?" I mean, they obviously think more of you when you have an outgoing personality when you are drunk. But when you are sober, you're still your same self and they should like you for who you really are. And if they don't, they obviously aren't true friends and aren't people to surround yourself with. I say, try a new crowd. I bet you are a very interesting and likable person who does not need toxicants to have a good time.
