Some people might think is very rude...

Weird! When I went to the toilet a minute ago, I looked in my own eyes in the mirror, and I thought about making a thread about looking peopl in the face.

But I thought it would be a bad idea.

ahhh, some people will talk to you 5 inches away from your face and that bothers me a little. it doesn't annoy me, it just bothers me so I kind of back away usually. I talk to a lot of people without looking at them if I don't know them.

Looking right inot the eyes is a good thing but the toughest thing to do, I often get distracted by moles, facial hair and stuff like that.

I don't have this problem, Charles, 'cause I always look at people's face when I'm talking to them, specially to their eyes - it's just like a sign that you're paying attention to the conversation and that you're saying the truth - (that's what I think). ;) Well... there's a case in which I wouldn't do that as much as I used to, for example, when I'm talking to a boy who I like... and I'm not able to look at his face but is 'cause he likes me and I don't wanna him to know it, but that's all. Maybe, you don't do it 'cause you're pretty shy - this is the only reason that I can think about at the moment.

I only look the guy I like into his eyes, maybe it'll work some day

I love that episode of Seinfield with the Close Talker hahahahaha!

OK, irrelevant.

I usually stare at 'em for about 10 seconds, then look at my watch, 10 seonds, scratch my face, 10 seconds, pick my bum.... and continue like that.

Oh you also Ariadnasquire?

when i'm talking to people i know i never have a problem to look them in the face. i only have a problem with that if i'm very nervous and i think that i absolutely have to look someone in the face, for example during an interview. i sometimes find it very hard in this situation, even though it's a thing i naturally do.

well, it depends ... sometimes i just don't wanna look at someone

Well it does bothers me when someone just stares at you. I don't think I have a problem with looking at people's faces.. I like to look at peoples faces..just to see their facial expressions hehe :laugh3: :D

yes, also me... may be because sometimes i'm too shy... i don't know but it makes people feel that you are insecure... that's a bad message we give to people who we speak to.. you know, or like we don't pay attention to their talking or something like that...

Okay...

But I meant why you call me faust when we already know each other... but nevermind.

^I think you mean after... and I did it intentionally cause you did it first.

Nevermind :P

alright, that's it, break it up adrianasquire and Faust :laugh3:

Sometimes I find myself not being able to listen to people cause I'm trying to maintain eye contact, when it would be easier to read their lips while they are talking.

I'm really shy, so I tend not to stare into someones eyes when they are talking. But, if a dude had nice eyes, you'd probably have to shake me out of my fixation :laugh4: But in all seriousness, I guess that's why I dread speeches and any kind of public speaking...dread dread dread it...you have to make eye contact then

i have a friend who keeps looking at my belly when he talks to me ... that annoys me more than if someone would look me in the face:P i have no problems with looking in the face of the person im talking to ...

i usually look people in the face when im talking to them however i couldnt do it this afternoon at work when i was serving this lady.....

mainly because she had a black moustache and a black beardy bit on her triple chin. it was feral and i didnt want to be rude by staring, though i probably made it worse by avoiding it when she was telling me her orders.
