Sensitive and Poetic Souls Unite!

Featured Replies

One thing thats beginning to get to me about this 21st century life, is how whiney and pretentious people are getting because they just cant be brutally honest.

"Ugly is only on the inside!"

"What is war and what is it good for?!"

"Be yourself!"

I mean to believe in a few things that are quite stereotypical is ok because you obviously genuinely believe in them, but I know some people who are just so tacky and robotic in trying to look like sensitive and caring souls in every single way.

Another annoying thing is how people of these views think they are different from what they feel is a caveman society, when in truth, most people today are made up of opinions that are so stereotypically sensitive, as in, they'd never hurt a butterfly, they'd never judge anyone on looks, they hate war etc. etc.

These kinds of people are so incredibly boring to listen to, its like I've read the textbook, I know exactly what you think so dont bother telling me.

The opinions they use, usually have no real backbone. They will hate Sadam Hussein but hate War even more, they have no actual solutions to life's problems so they are basically Anti-Everything, not just Anti-War.

I hope you are getting a feel for the type of person I'm talking of.

I used to have that fear, but now I'm a mix of seeing the world in a few different lights.

But these people just dont bring anything to the plate. My friend for example makes these freaky montages, made out of newspapers clippings and editorials, just headlines and shit. Basically they say all the hippie-kid's caring points of the day, about how rape crimes arent being punished, how the state is spreading heroin, how George Bush uses scare tactics (The ironic thing here is how the montage itself could be described as a scare tactic- pretty much justifying Bush's actions)

And its all so, typical. Not only is it typical, but by randomly pointing out society's faults and not being prepared to actually give an opinion on how to fix things, its just apathetic.

I can see society's faults, I dont spend my time worrying about them unless I can either do something about it or develop an opinion of what should be done.

The type of character I'm referring to is basically a Vague Finger Pointer.

i always had a feeling these people have no real feelings. they believe what they hear, see and learn...they have no personal opinion. saying the obvious does not mean it's honest

Yeah, some people say something even if they have no idea about the subject of conversation, they just say what everybody say and that's it. Honest people always say what they think and don't care about stereotypes.

you're right.People who say something said yet by others never uses his mind.We call them parrots...and i know a lot of them

You know, you sound JUST like my sister! That is exactly the kind of thing she goes on about all the time. Her 'friends' apparently are all sheep and she does not approve.

Although she moans so much about it now I tune out because she bores me sometimes, but I do get the point.

  • Author

Haha, I only moan about it when Im in a bad mood like I was earlier.

It just sometimes gets to me, its a new category of stereotype thats hard to typify, at the same time its quite blatantly obvious.

I hope it goes away, soon.

It won't I don't think, trust me I have heard this enough from my sister; a whole generation of them are being born muhaha!

I missed this thread.

I've only ever vaguely thought about this before, but thinking about it now, I think I must try to avoid it.

I never talk about things I have no clue about, which is pretty much everything. War, Bush, Politics etc.

It means I should either learn, or never have a real opinion I guess.

I didnt even mention the point that they talk about things they have no clue about. Which is exactly what they do.

"Bush is killing innocent babies for oil!!!!"

I didnt even mention the point that they talk about things they have no clue about. Which is exactly what they do.

I completely missed the point of the thread didn't I?

Aahhh welll.. I'm an idiot.

i always had a feeling these people have no real feelings. they believe what they hear' date=' see and learn...they have no personal opinion. saying the obvious does not mean it's honest[/quote']

exactly! They say what other people wanna hear... or even what they think it'd be "the correct answer" which other people could expect of them, but not really what they opine - that sometimes could be the same that they said or not - Maybe they're afraid about telling their own opinion and may think they wouldn't be understood if they'd do it, I dunno.

This is a good thread.

I definitely know what you're talking about, I know a lot of people like those, though I don't count myself with them.

Be yourself is a typical line, yet everybody knows you have to adapt the environment and you can't be completely original, because non of us want to stick out that much.

People who talk about politics and crime in a way they all say the same speech bother me, I'm sure if I asked them why they have such opinion they wouldn't know how to answer.

At the same time, I don't think I'm one of them, because I tend to have thoughts that shock people in a certain way but that's no reason for me to join the bunch, I rather keep some stuff to myself instead of promoting something I don't believe in

Its just a mould of a person.

They are anti-war and against all the typical bad social issues of the time.
