that's a pop song as the whole album is a pop record, but IMO that album isn't a good one

Huh I knew you would say exactly these words. But it was just a joke. I should stop it until I turn into real Radiohead whore :uhoh:

but seriosuly, how can people call BH&R a rock album? it's pure pop with some obvious rip-offs

you can't even compare it to OOS or Showbiz which are better than their latest effort.

Muse have gone pop, fact

i can think of Outkast's Hey Ya and probably Britney's Toxic as last good pop songs, but that's all. both are from 2003 if i'm not wrong

i think we all have to agree that the 90s damaged the pop too much (see: boy bands and blonde singers with boobs)

where are those good times with A-Ha's, Michael Jackson's, Billy Joel's or Beatles' excellent pop records?

Well, A-ha still exist.

Pop? You know I never actually thought about the genre of pop until I saw this thread...Yes, I think it definitely is dead.

As for Muse being pop....Supermassive Black Hole is the only song that comes close to being pop. Everything else is classic Muse.

Starlight is pretty much pop IMO and Invincible sounds like a Jeff Buckley song just with different song writing

@ Lera of course A-HA still exist as Billy Joel, Michael Jackson and i believe half of Beatles do as well lol

but they don't dominate any more as they did in the early 80s

Jeff Buckley is pop?

I think "Invincible" sounds more like U2 than anything else. The second part is especially like "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."

it's not dead when u realize which CD's are making the biggest sales..

what defines pop anyway? isnt pop short for popular? i don't like genres.

why you think it's classic Rock'n'Roll?

Not really... but isn't pop like...The Backstreet Boys and stuff like that? That's how I see it anyways. I think we need someone to define it or else this is all a matter of opinion.

BSB are a bad pop example

there was a lot of good pop artists in the past: Beatles, Micheal Jackson (his earlier records are brilliant), Billy Joel (i personally like him), Elliott Smith (he was a brilliant songwriter), Madonna (earlier stuff is good) etc

Well, I agree that only pop music we have today is Jessica Simpson, Pussycat dolls and all. So yeah, real good pop is dead, fake blondies rule the world.

+ Paris Hilton and all those artists who think they make R'n'B like Rihanna, as you said PCD or some R'n'B male singers (don't remember their names lol)

as i think classic rock'n'roll has died some time ago, pop has as well

RIP

Pop is dead and music is getting died!!!!!!!!.......WHICH SINGERS OR BANDS OF THIS YEARS WILL REMEMBER IN 2020? I think just very few................
