August 10, 200619 yr Reading & Leads Festivals are preety huge, Isle Of Wight, The Big Chill, River Rave in Boston HSFest in Washington Dc, Lolla polluza? Still going? Not sure. Edge Fest 1 & 2 here in Otnario, That's only a few. There are alot more that I can't recall at the moment. I think glasto is only once a year, but I'm not sure...

August 10, 200619 yr I though Rock Werchter in belgium was rather famous too ... I've seen a lot of British people there anyway ... Also Pukkelpop is rather famous ... even more this year with the super line-up.

August 10, 200619 yr Way to many to say. Glastonbury is a 3 day festival once a year, although it took a break this year (2006). I'm off to Cardiff Calling Festival, basically the welsh leg of the get loaded in the park, which is on the same weekend as Reading/Leeds, but with only 10,000 tickets out for Cardiff (and 15,000 for London) it's ain't as large as some festivals.

August 11, 200619 yr What's happen? "Tragedy struck the festival in the year 2000 when nine people were killed. They were trampled to death in the crowd in front of the main stage during the Pearl Jam performance. It had been raining and was muddy that day, these 9 people had slipped over because the crowd has suerged foward and they were crushed to death. They where suffocated and had lack of oxygen. Pearl Jam where forced to stop their set only 7 songs in and the Cure's set was also cancelled that night. As a result, massive security measures were installed for the festival in 2001. After the tragedy, a memorial site was set up close to the main stage. It features 9 trees and a stone inscribed with the words "How fragile we are".
