I though Rock Werchter in belgium was rather famous too ... I've seen a lot of British people there anyway ...

Also Pukkelpop is rather famous ... even more this year with the super line-up.

ROCK AM RING

in Germany....yay...

I want to go there...it's not far away from me...

Way to many to say.

Glastonbury is a 3 day festival once a year, although it took a break this year (2006).

I'm off to Cardiff Calling Festival, basically the welsh leg of the get loaded in the park, which is on the same weekend as Reading/Leeds, but with only 10,000 tickets out for Cardiff (and 15,000 for London) it's ain't as large as some festivals.

yes, we have A LOT of festivals in germany.

i think that Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park are the most famous ones.

(all bands play BOTH festivals)

EVERYONE's playing RAR! there are always tons of bands! like Metallica, Guns'n'Roses, Tool, Babyshambles, Goldfrapp, Nelly Furtado (i still can't get over the fact that she played a ROCK festival), Alice In Chains,... and so on!!!

and ... of course the Hurricane festival!

there are also amazing bands at the Hurricane festival... such as Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, The Hives, Mando Diao... it's more the indie kinda festival

Roskilde in denmark? Maybe it's more of a nordic thing, but it's huge and many great bands play there!

Oh yeah Roskilde... The place where 9 people died during the performance of Pearl Jam in 2000. What a tragedy...

What's happen?

What's happen?

"Tragedy struck the festival in the year 2000 when nine people were killed. They were trampled to death in the crowd in front of the main stage during the Pearl Jam performance. It had been raining and was muddy that day, these 9 people had slipped over because the crowd has suerged foward and they were crushed to death. They where suffocated and had lack of oxygen. Pearl Jam where forced to stop their set only 7 songs in and the Cure's set was also cancelled that night. As a result, massive security measures were installed for the festival in 2001. After the tragedy, a memorial site was set up close to the main stage. It features 9 trees and a stone inscribed with the words "How fragile we are".

Here a statetment of Pearl Jam...
