I've seen that movie, I watched it in French class two years ago. It's so sad, and I highly recommend it!

of course i knew a lot before that, but when you're standing right in front of that memorial thing and someone's telling you all those stories... yeah, i did have to cry. it was horrible.

(it was a looooong wall with little stones in it. and on every single stone was a name. it's a monument for all the citizens of frankfurt that died during world war I)

we went to see the old ghetto of frankfurt and our teacher told us under which terrible conditions the jews lived there. i couldn't speak a single word.

i cannot believe how a whole generation could be that cruel and do such things.

you know... i'm from germany... and this makes everything a lot harder because people always have those bad things in the back of their minds. that's why i'm sometimes ashamed of being german although we don't have anything to do with that anymore. it's just the fact that i am german and that my anscestore probably didn't do anything to help others.

gaaah, we're watching that film in RE class. it's about a jewish boy (fuck. can't remember his name anymore. let's call him. erm... Bonnet) in france who's being hidden in a catholic school. however. one day some kinda general interrupts a lesson and asks for the jewish boy. nobody said a word because nobody knew he was jewish except his best friend. and when that best friend just turned around for a second and looked at him, the general recognised it and walked right up to Bonnet. they looked at each other for seconds and Bonnet started packing his things. he shook hands with some of his class mates and also with his best friend when he was dragged away by that general. they shut down the school. i don't know if i sound stupid, but that scene was extremely sad. i cried. oh man. i cried like ... someone died. well, it was the end of the lesson and that's why i don't know how the movie continues.

however.

i think it's fucking retarted to joke about jews and hitler (right, Prince Harry?). germans cannot laugh about that because we're responsable for what happenend. we don't want to deny it and we're very sensetive when it comes to the holocaust.

Hi all. it has recently been brought to my attention that maldini and el masry have been propagating extremely anti-semitic claims in the the holocaust never happened. not only is this anti-semitic but it insults all those who were murdered during the holocaust, including gays and lesbians, the disabled and gypsies. i have family who i know were killed there. its just insulting and highly offensive, so i made this thread to show that yes, there may be freedom of speech, but in cases like this there is a limit, one that in this case has been well passed. if you would like to see what has happened here is the link to the thread:

What a horrid statement. The holocaust never existed? Seriously, people in this world always get bored of the same topics so they make up new ones. How can they possibly not understand all the evidence that proves that it happened? What about the testimony of people who were actually there? A tale of many that all coincides in the same event? Not very likely, is it?

 

Yes, freedom of speech allows us to voice our opinions on certain topics, but that doesnt mean the questioning of events that already happened!! Specially those that have been recorded to the last detail.

 

I dont know if this is a cruel joke, but to question one of the worst and most inhumane tragedies on earth is barbaric. Yes, yes, many say that the man never went to the moon in 1969. It questions technology and the sort, but not society. The holocaust did happen and neglecting shows lack of respect to those who lost their lives for no strong reason other than sticking to their faith and beliefs or to be born in a certain way.
