I'm sort of getting into it, but I was curious to see who else is on Flickr, the photo-sharing site. I mostly browse, at least until I can actually get a decent camera (hooray for photojournalism!).

Does anyone have an account? I know of at least one, Loretitus; but does anyone else use theirs?

Mine is at http://flickr.com/photos/raylockman/. Like I said, I'm not good, and in fact, a lot of the pics weren't taken by me (!), but I try to post some interesting stuff.

hahahaha :laugh4: "Ray is weird"!

yesh I have a flickr account, the link is in my sig

  • 2 years later...

i'm registered there but i honestly have not used it since like 2 years ago

thing is, i was about to check a link that directs to a flickr account, which i guess is protected (?) and it redirects to ask my Yahoo ID to log in and suppousely see the link... is it normal?

it is completelly associated with Yahoo now?

it will turn to be a pay thing? (as will turn Geocities since this october)

Flickr has been owned by Yahoo since 2005, it's only since 2007 when the 2 databases were merged together so you need a yahoo account to use Flickr.

Considering it has quite a few paid-for users already, they won't risk turning it into a fully paid-for site.

I have one, I have a lot of pictures up on it.

who wants to see?

You do know Flickr sells your photographs without your knowledge (unless you jump though hoops and more hoops to tick a box so you keep copyright)?

  • 2 weeks later...

given the "quality" of my pix, i'd be quite surprised if Flickr ever sells any of them, actually... ;)

Yep, the first link in my sig is mine

I prefer flickr over photobucket because of the whole community thing. Photobucket seems more like a photo sharing website to me, and flickr seems more like a "photo website" site to me. If that makes any sense. :uhoh:

(plus, the layout is a lot nicer!)
