yeah i orginally had the proper clip then i decided we've all seen it so i posted a live version. also really good news i found this program that allows you to download videos from youtube and then either convert them into proper videos or just convert the audio off them into mp3 so i'm going to go mew live searching tomorrow!

Oh geez, this is certainly a tall order.....but could someone re-upload any of this? :) All these links are LONG dead (post was from way back in Sept of last year). i've already stated that if they were to play in ever major aus city, i would drop everything to attend. and those who know my mew-fanaticism, know i am not kidding lol it's mew afterall :)

 

Nadia ~ you are going to see them in over 2 weeks time....that is amazing! i know you will have a mind-blowing time. their live performances [have been said] are something else. i would love to be there front and center watching jonas sing comforting sounds esp ... and special that would be ideal. take pics, get autographs and anything else a frenger can get :D :nice: rock on and have a bloody great night! :cool:

Kathy, I was shocked that the tix were only $15 also (I know I for one, would pay 3x (4x, 5x?) this to just hear comforting sounds only!). It seems to me though (from the list of other attendees on last.fm), that most folks are going just to see the openers, Oh No, Oh My (which don't impress me that much, btw). These unsuspecting concert-goers know little of the treat they are in for.....!!

 

I wish, wish, wisssh I could go to more than one gig, but the fact that America is such a BIG country doesn't lend itself to easy Mew-groupie action. :P I wonder if the seats are assigned in the venue, or if it's one of those 'first come first served' deals. Humm. I'm going with a friend who hardly knows their music, so I doubt I'll be able to drag her there hours in advance! BUT I'll do my best!!

Btw, here is a wallpaper I made with that photo that Rolle posted a day or so ago. It's quite simple, but I was itching to do something with the 'why are you looking grave? lyrics. (There are two vers. because I couldn't decide which I liked better). Made for res 1024x768.

 

awesome. the program i was talking about can convert audio too. at the moment i'm converting the 4 songs mew played on rhapsody one (found on youtube) into 192kbps mp3 stereo audio. WOOHOO!! expect an upload in the next few days!

Ok, so today I did a good deed!! I introduced a friend in France to Mew. :D After just a few listens of the "holy trinity" of Apocalypso, Special and TZB (...oh and Comforting Sounds too), he told me that he hasn't had such a huge, immediate crush on a band like this in a long time. (And I quote: "Great voice, great melodies, original sounds and cool instrumental technics...") ;) Ha! He's hooked. Mew just has that affect on people, doesn't it?

yes they do! :D i'm excited for people who just start getting into them. especially since they aren't mainstream to the point you can turn on the tv or radio and hear them, and if other's are careful or lucky to know a friend who knows about Mew, the opportunity could pass them by, and WHAT an opportunity to let pass!

Funny you should mention that because I did the same thing today. I went to the local record shop for some Mew hardcopies (this is a big deal for me, because I hardly ever buy CDs anymore :embarassed:) but "big surprise"...they didn't have any! :( I think I'm going to just order over amazon.

 

Will, dang...sorry about your cd! Hope you can survive without Mew in your car for a few days. My mom's car also eats CDs...vicious little devil!

 

Oh...cool thing! I was telling my friend about my upcoming Mew concert - completely prepared to give her an effusive rundown of their music - when she told me she'd heard them before on satellite radio! I was shocked she knew who they were. :stunned: I was standing on a downtown street corner chatting on my cell, and was probably shouting with my excitement. *Mew moment of the day* :smug: (If you guys want me to stop with my silly stories, just say the word!) :lol:

 

Little request: could anyone upload some b-sides? I've tried to find them on torrents, but no luck. Merci en advance. ;)

@Josh, atghk comes in digipak form with the general booklet in black which i'm sure you've seen already. if you open it up completely, you see all four members with little mew inscriptions between the pics like the angel etc. the only bad thing is the acrylic-like material they've used which creases easily, and can cause the black to come off a little, but it's still looks really slick :cool:

 

frengers comes in jewel case and the booklet doesn't fully open up and there are no pics of the band members just well, you'll soon see lol
