The downsides of living in your country

Featured Replies

Downsides of my country...

Much rain when it comes to autumn...

Sometimes, especially these last years, summer is very warm ( over 35° ) which is quite unusual here...

Politics is always a problem... I dunno what's going on the head of my country... I'm offline about this...

Otherwise... I dunno... that's ok I think

we have lots of fires in the summer....the weather is ok i think....

the only neighbour (is this the correct spell?) we have is spain!

EDIT: politics are a problem but i don't know any country where that doesn't happen!

EDIT2: i was thinking about this and actually i remembered that there are some problems in our education system and also if you want to do something in an international level is not impossible but you would probably be more likely to succeed if you were born in a more important country...

:stunned:

That was my reaction!

What I dislike about my country. hmmm. :P

I can't imagine living anywhere else but the U.S. is crazy! The economy for one. They can raise the minimun wage  . And the education system. That no child left behind crap is total bull  (even though it doesn't affect me, private school.)

^ Also- that made me think, the gap between the rich and the poor is ridiculous!

^The "no child left behind" thing is basically the reason I was sent to a private school.

The education system here sucks.

Same here!

After eighth grade my dad was like "Oh shit!" And stuck me in the closest private school he could find! :P

I guess my education here is "better" but it's not fair. There shouldn't be a difference.

Exactly, a lot people are fed up with the education system, but not everybody can afford to send their kids to a private school. I've been going to my school since the fifth grade, but I was trying to get in since.... first grade.

the downsides of scotland.........

having to put up with like 10 solid days of RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!

Hmm another one I just thought of, the local council. Even though this is just my town I'm certain there are heaps more dodgey ones. Here they pretty much don't want anyone getting ahead in life, particulary my dad. He's been trying ofr 4 years to build this big industrial thing in our land but they keep making up excuses not to and now the company he was going to build it for has pulled out of the deal, all thanks to the council. They treat him like crap and it really makes me angry.

Unfriendly, impatient & arrogant people, useless politicians, bad TV shows and, most of all, music-haters!

You should better ask me what's GOOD in my country - which is the snow we have in winter :D That's the only thing I like about Austria..

but Vienna is beautiful

Slovakia sux in every way,no way to describe it

^^Agreed ..sometime last year my mum was hit by a public bus...the council made up all these excuses not to give her money for the damage..Luckily there were witnesses and we got some money out of the council but not enough to fix the damage:angry:

bush

get er done rednecks..

and...

bush

American tourists

Backpackers.

People who cant wait another minute for the tube and wedge themselves in the carriage.

this country is a mess

:dozey: Mark, that's not even Wolfgang Petry...

what's bad about my country?

i'd say it's just the atmosphere right now. the economy is really really bad and there are a bunch of unemployed people right now who do not even consider to go out and work.

what else is bad?

... erm ... nothing else i'd say.

honestly. it's the economy. that's it. and the politicians of course who destroyed our country +_+ (and keep destroying it).

Oh, yes it is!;)

It's cold. It's a fucked up education system. It's Putin. It's every cd costs $25. It's vodka. Hell, it's a looooot of vodka. It's fucking stereotypes that if you're dreaming of moving to England or whereever else you're not a patriot and a fucking traitor (Hello, Lenin). It's a Russian literature only for 11 years. It's fucked up drivers who can't even drive, doctors that noone can afford. Loads of beggars on the streets that won't let you free until you give them money. It's racists in every school class and skinhead gangs in every district. Men, this country could be great. It just needed a good management.

Mine country.......it's relentless in its tries to not be like EU.

Only...they're not getting the whole picture.

The education system in Russia is a hell of a lot better than here.

And last year when I went to Russia I bought about five cd's for twenty-five dollars which is relatively cheap...?
