September 11, 200916 yr Downsides? Well crappy government but most of the governments are crappy so thats not something that is just in my country. Weather I cant complain, we have the perfect weather. Education system is OK, we get lots of general knowledge but some stuff are too much. Like is it really important that I know Chinese dynesties. The downside of my country is that lots of people still live in 1990ties when there was a war and they didnt get over it. Its stupid and I hate it. Oh yeah our law system sucks majorly! Some cases are on the court for 20 years. And our economy sucks and I dont think we'll get out of the crises very soon cause we depend on tourism and tourist season lasts for 3 months. And well basically the whole country is in deep shit!

Oh and another downside is that we still need visas. And they don't give enough money for education and by this I don't mean schools. And some people are just TOO PATRIOTIC.

Corruption Insecurity Stupid politics Stupid People Poverty Dependence on US economy Lack of job and governements actually doing something about it instead of adding more taxes Ignorance Lack of environment care, because of this we are running out of water because there is no rain due to global warming, if we add deforestation and poaching..... Over use of natural sources Some people destroy cultural and historical heritage But that's all since I'm pretty optimistic :)

When we study about fair politics, great social systems my professors always speak about Norway. :D
September 17, 200916 yr Anyone from Bulgaria here? Maybe only that kind of person would understand me. :D There are so many downsides that i don't know where to start from. The corruption is everywhere - i don't think is possible to get rich here if you aren't a politic, or a drug dealer or something like that. And 80+% of the population listens to a music that could make normal rock fan puke. :inquisitive: However, it is very beautiful country, but the government and these 80% destroy it.

September 17, 200916 yr More about Lebanon, people are still talking about the war that ended 17 years ago:\, no one has forgiven the other:veryangry2::veryangry2:...and our brilliant leaders decided 4 years ago to bring back those who started the war:shifty::huh::anxious:all those years ago from prison, exile...so in 2005 they all came back at once (can you imagine, they were against each other, destroyed the country...killed thousands came back within a few days of each others...they hated each others then...and now:anxious:) all this caused a civil war-like day on may 7th 2008, there was riots and shootings all over the country, it started on a university campus and...sometimes i just want want to throw the tely out of the window :shout::furious:, the only thing we see is politicians, we haven't had a government since June, 5 year old kids talk politics, electricity blackouts are normal (they have scheduals and everything for when and where to turn the power on, usually 10 hours a day, we have to depend on generators...we pay twice, and they always break down, you have to plan ahead and see when the power goes out to see a movie without interruption), you cnt live here if you don't understand arabic, french and english, they ware you out at school (last year, 11 th grade, i had 18 obligatory subjects, this year 16...bleh) Syrian men live on the streets here looking for work, i'm afraid of walking alone, they don't even shower... we have a thing called "wasta" i don't think that word exsists in any other language, only in the Lebanese dialectic, and it's like "the hook up" you know someone who's in power you get everything you want... i've seen sudents who suck at school keep going up grades bcz they have a wasta, and they are brought the test answers before the test...corruption everywhere...i have to go electricity goes out in 15 mins and it take about 10 more to generators to kick in (bad news for those afraid of the dark...:sneaky:
