The downsides of living in your country

Featured Replies

For me they are the heat, drought and bushfires. Today it was 37 degrees celcius and there are massive bushfires surrounding my town at the moment. It's hard to go outside without choking on all the smoke. I doubt the strong winds and lightning would be helping it all either. And I have no idea of the impact this will have on the drought! :stunned: There is only 18 months worth of water in my town left and we are about to enter into stage 5 restrictions! The weather is so fucked up around here and probably the whole of Australia at the moment. So for me the weather is the biggest downside.

do i really have to write it all down?

Yes, yes you do. Or just write your top 3 :)

true, the weather and entire water system in aus (well mainly brisbane) has gone haywire :uhoh:

the only thing that really stands out as negative about aus, is the lack of or decreasing sense of identity. from a general point of view, we seem to be copying american culture which i think is a real worry. this and the current water restrictions are annoying.

oh i mean i live in Israel :P everybody knows how's things here..

England has bad weather at times

that we are away from everywhere

at least you have other countries, australia is in the middle of nowhere, which is kinda good but bad at the same time....

Currently, the worst thing about our country is xenophobia. People don't like Gypsies that live here and sing our national anthem when they move to other village. I'm so terribly ashamed.

Unfriendly, impatient & arrogant people, useless politicians, bad TV shows and, most of all, music-haters!

You should better ask me what's GOOD in my country - which is the snow we have in winter :D That's the only thing I like about Austria..

1 U$S is 3 pesos here, which makes it impossible for an international band to play here or very expensive if they do

The truly awful German music, such as Wolfgang Petry and "carnival" songs.;)

:laugh3:

You wouldn't be laughing if you were subjected to it!!

Go and check some of it out!!:P

What do you 'recommend'? :P

I dare you to go and listen to some Wolfgang Petry!!:P

Schweet...danke' date=' Mark! :P[/quote']

Here's a pic of him!!:P

honestly?

Nothing really bad.........I mean in my area.....no nature catastrophes.....no terrorists....maybe sometimes politics.....hahahaha...

^^Are you proud to be a citizen of your country? I mean, surely there has to be something you like about it.

I misread the topic, i thought it said in the country, my bad.

The downsides of my country would be rednecks and hicks. But there are alot of upsides. Freedom, a large middle class.
