September 11, 200916 yr Anyway the main downside about living in the UK's the weather. I don't mind rain as such but I hate that windy/ rainy kinda weather. Those days when you can't even use your umbrella because it would break straight away. The UK is also quite badly affected by the credit crunch. As for Switzerland, I felt like the main downside about living there was the people. You hardly ever see anyone smile when you walk through the streets. I also thought that it was a rather boring place to live. The nightlife isn't very good, not even in major cities.
September 11, 200916 yr I like rain, it balances things out and you can avoid getting wet if you really don't want to, plus it beats heat. Credit Crunch hasn't affected my life at all.
September 11, 200916 yr As I said I don't mind rain. It's the windy weather that I don't like... wind in combination with rain. But you're probably more used to it. The credit crunch hasn't affected me that much either. It took me a while to find a summer job but it wasn't the end of the world. It is a massive problem though. I know a lot of people who graduated from uni and can't find jobs.
September 11, 200916 yr Wind makes me smile. Yeah but that is (more than likely) down to their choice of degree too, if you don't have a degree that leads into a specific area/job then what's the point in the degree?

Well, the only one I could think of now is the fact that I still can't find that many of my favourite CDs or any of the products of my favourite bands. But we're getting there, I hope.. Also, ah, I don't like how we are letting a lot of foreigners live amongst us.. A lot of people from Palestine and Iraq have been let into our country because of the wars there. And now I kinda hate it. I know it sounds a bit racist, but I just couldn't give a crap sometimes as these people can become a bit rude and ungrateful and also, I would just like to speak in my own Jordanian accent without being looked at oddly, thanks a lot. Apart from that it's pretty much an easy life here, esp. compared to our surroundings. No wars and such. Pretty peaceful. Our government has it's downsides, of course. But they're an alright bunch of people, I think. Education is pretty good, we have like 91% literacy rate, I've heard recently. Also, I don't think I'll have that many problems in finding a job with my major but that's just me probably. Well anyway, GO JORDAN!
September 11, 200916 yr Too many problems in Lebanon...oh my i have no idea where to start, but i want to say first that i wouldn't leave here in a million years♥♥♥ okey first is all the Palestinians refugees living in camps all over lebanon, they started to arm themselves back in the 70s to fight Israel, a group of Lebs said we should support them, another said no...all lead to a 16 years civil war (before beirut was paris of the middle east...google it to know more) and as you might know, all the corruption and bad consequence of war don't go away once the war is over, but double...so 30 after the war and we're still paying the price we have billions of dollars of dept, corruption in most of the government's offices, 15 million lebanese have immigrated (only 3 million live here)...enough about the war...there are over 1 million syrian men living on the streets here looking for work (painting houses, builders...) Iraqi refuges are treated like ****, worst tv shows you could imagine, bad music (each girl who likes what she sees in the mirror wants to sing, music videos are what a stripper might do, cover your ears...but it's not all bad we have some AMAZING music), every time a politician demands a free lebanon he gets assassinated along with some 10 others who happened to be out when the bomb went off, Hezbollah has caused us massive losses in 2006, every time hassan Nasrallah (hezbollah leader) is on tv his followers start firing guns in the air, many people get hurt, us christians are afraid that some day we might all leave bcz of them...:cry: :cry2: i should come back and post later, i have to go now ;) __________________ the cedar revolution Lebanon needs coldplay
September 11, 200916 yr Downsides of living in this country? Being run by governments who can no longer take big decisions which concern the people of the UK. All they do now is make minor tweaks here and there but all these shits (Brown, Cameron and Clegg) want to make friends with everyone. And what do they do about Broken Britain? Nothing because they are incompetent twats who have no right of being in that Parliament.

There is a point in studying a subject that you are interested in even if it doesn't lead to a specific job. Not all employers ask for a specific degree and a lot of skills are transferable. Anyway my point was that it is harder to find jobs now than it was two years ago.
