I was thinking to just buy it from the shops on the day of release but then I though 'It's the final book, people will be buying it much quicker than the other books in the series' so now I'm worried about not getting a copy on the release day and I want to pre order but I don't want my faamly to laugh at me! I already cop it enough when I order Coldplay stuff lol...

Not a chance of any bookshop running out, they have enough problems price-matching the supermarkets without not having enough copies themselves. They'll look at the last books sales and work out how many they need for the first 5 days. And even then, the chains have a habit of over-estimating so that they're sending a pile back a few months later!!
April 8, 200719 yr Author That would be the best bet. The big 3 supermarkets will try and keep their price a secret to try and stop the other supermarkets under-cutting them. Amazon are selling it for 8.99, a price I have seen undercut by Waterstones. The books out on the 21st July, so I bet we will hear what the supermarkets come out with around the 17th.
April 12, 200719 yr 8.99 pounds? That's about $AUS 23 - 25.. not too bad at all. Although my currency exchange abilities isn't that great so it could be more. Still a good price though.
June 6, 200719 yr I pre-ordered from Big W the other day. I didn't have to pay anything, though. I just registered with my name and contact details and on the day of release I go into the store and go to the Lay-By counter and pay for it there. They'll hold a copy for me until the 28th July.
