Arsenal beat Blackburn 2-0, even though they had a player sent off in the 12th minute.

Everton and Reading shared the points, with a 1-1 draw.

Spurs are winning 2-1 against New "we are a big team" castle.

3-2 now to the 'big' club from Newcastle.

According to the news of the world, thanks to a new Fifa rule, Frank Lampard will move in the summer to Barcelona...

...but then again, the News of the World isn't very trust-worthy.

So it ended, Newcastle 3, Spurs 2.

What needs to happen now is for Arsenal to beat Spurs and Chelsea to beat Wycombe in the league cup, so that the 6th place in the league table turns into a UEFA cup place.

6th place for Bolton.

Watford are now 10 points from safety

Charlton are 6 points from safety

West Ham are 3 points from safety.

Looks like it won't be a repeat of the 2004-05 season, when on the last weekend, there was 4 teams in the hat for the 3 places (Of which West Brom stayed up).

Let's have a look at the old Fizzy Pop league

Birmingham and Derby are in the places for automatic promotion

Preston are 3rd with a 4 point cushion over West Brom and Southampton in 4th and 5th, who are 2 point ahead of Colchester and Stoke. With 3 teams on 43 points. Looks like another busy season in that league.

At the bottom end of the fizzy pop league, Southend, Leeds (good good), Barnsley (Didn't Ian support them until going off to Man Utd?) and Hull are in the bottom 4, with 24 points, 24, 26 & 30 going up the table.

However Birmingham decided to re-lay their pitch on a week where it has been raining, so there match with Leeds has had to be pushed back.

Man Utd are my second team because I live and work in Manchester, Trafford side :)

Well, I'm happy. What a win against Spurs today.....I know we didn't have much of the ball at times during the game but with a weakened team out we managed to get three goals while Spurs only got two....and that's that's a win.

Special goal by Martins as well.

No they didn't

We were 4 points ahead of them at the start of this round of matches (5 points now) :P

That Martins' goal was a beauty. That was the best I've seen the Spuds play this season and they still got beat...at home.... LOL @ the Spuds.

Here's some more on the unlikely move.........

TOON IN FOR RONALDO?

Newcastle have been linked with a shock double move for Ronaldo and Antonio Cassano.

The Real Madrid duo have both fallen out with Italian boss Fabio Capello, who has made it clear he's keen to offload the strikers during the transfer window and the Magpies could be ready to swoop.

Ronaldo is reportedly available for £5million this month and it now appears the Brazilian star could have played his last game for the club.

However if Glenn Roeder is able to convince Ronaldo to move to St James Park then they will have to pay out wages of at least £90,000 a week while Casano won't come cheap either.

The Spanish club's president Ramón Calderón has said: "It seems that Ronaldo is no longer in the coach's plans and that is the way it is.

"There is the possibility of something happening before January 31 and if that happens then we shall see.

In regards to Cassano, Capello confirmed he's no longer in his thinking and is soon to be through the exit door of the Bernabeu .

Capello said on Saturday: "Cassano does not enter into my plans."

Wouldn't be the first time Newcastle has purchased high-profile players who play well for a couple games before getting injured.

I believe Newcastle's Net spend (in less out) has been the highest in the premiership for the past 2 seasons, and look what it has won them...

...an inter-toro board.

you don't like Leeds? why?

Leeds thinks they are a 'big' club still, but they are not a big club.

It will be so funny to see them in league 1, after they nearly got back up to the premiership last season via the play-offs.

Dirtypool beat Chelsea 2-0 yesterday, so if Man U become the first team to beat Arsenal at home, they will go 9 points clear.

Villa ended a 11 match winless run with a 2-0 victory over Watford, who are now 10 points away from safety, and are selling their best player. Fulham and Spurs shared the points with a 1-1 draw, we fucked up and yet Charlton win 1-0 (so that there last 2 away wins in the premiership, both come from Fratton :().

Man City went down 3-0 to Blackburn, Middlesbrough trashed Bolton 5-1, Newcastle got a dodgy decision to draw 2-2 against West Hammy & Reading beat Sheffield United 3-1.

Today's action so far has given Wigan their 7th straight lose, losing 2-0 to Everton.

thanks for those news...and Chelsea lose...ha!

and this is too funny...

Arsenal scored a late winner to prevent Man Utd going 9 points clear at the top and complete a rare "double" over Man Utd.
