There just wouldn't be that many choices.

Ā

I can think of at least 20 albums which could feature on that list, various Live albums, re-releases, Greatest hits.

Both albums ain't great.

Ā

Muse's album has a good start, but it dips in the middle to end with KoC.

Ā

And Keane's album is just average, no real stand-out tracks which will be remembered in years to come.

Ā

I don't agree. Hopes & Fears admittedly had more memorable singles, but UTIS is a far more rounded, complete album and is a lot more emotive overall. Anyway, it thoroughly deserved to make the top five, and you have to say it's an excellent top five all the way through.

This list is most definitely cool.

I had an idea.

Ā

How about a "Best of 2006: The Banned Albums", which will include just the banned albums, Greatest Hits, Best-Ofs, Live Albums, Remix albums, re-issues.

Ā

But writing it now, it doesn't look to be a good idea, so please ignore me.

Ā

It's pointless to include Greatest Hits/Best Ofs as all the tracks have seen the light of day in previous years (e.g. U2 - 18).

Maybe there could be a separate poll for "live" and "remix" albums, though.........................

Hello.

Ā

I strongly recommend Battle - Back to Earth. 7 track mini-album that got 8/10 in the NME.

Well, 'Since Kyabram' was released in my country (and probably others) as an international release in 2006 on V2 Music Limited, that's why I assumed it was new - just to defend myself :P

Thanks a lot for doing this Nik, what a great job :D

Ā

Like many others, I'm highly disappointed by #1, but what can we do.. Still some nice albums among the top albums though, it's a good list over all =)

Ā

there are by far worse albums, that made the top 10, than BH&R. so Muse's victory wasn't the biggest disaster for me :P
