It's a bit out of my way, but I find myself optimistic about this news. I loooooooove soccer, and it's so unpopular over here in America. All I wish is that Beckham do SOME good for this sport so hopefully there will be more respect towards it.

 

 

That and, along with his family, stay far far away from Scientology activities!

1000 extra season tickets sold apparently. Looks like he's already bringing in some cash.

I heard this occurence on CNN this morning. I was also amazed. American people will be more interested in soccer thanks to Beckam involvement in their team. He'll make great points to L.A. team. As for his house in Hollywood, I can imagine he's got one when one thinks how gorgeous houses are in this area. I've visited Hollywood a few years ago and i could see Madonna's house which is tremendous. I've seen security guards at gates + cameras. Amazing, uh ? :shocked2:

Americans like high scoring games, and fasr paced scores. (at least this is what y friend told me) I don't believe it..... if some Americans have the patience to watch golf and baseball... then why not footy?

 

Personally, I find it more exciting than American football, baseball and golf combined!!!!

Other teams besides Toronto are now reporting an increase in ticket sales. So I guess this is good for the sport in N. AMerica.:)

I just saw a news clip in which they asked some of the Galaxy players for their reaction.... lol they seemed no so pleased yet complacent... they said as long as he plays hard, and comes to play, they don't have a problem lol another player said.... OMG, why is nobody excited about this? I totally LOVE Becks and have been in love with him since his Man U days (which were his best, obviously!)!!! I'm glad he's coming here.

 

I mean, wow. I've always wished soccer was more prominent in the US, and that's what the MLS is trying to do by hiring Becks.
