Coldplay.com forum gone?

Featured Replies

I'm not sure if it's just my computer, but the coldplay.com forum seems to have been suspended for maintenance... until August! It's an EMI message, which is a bit weird. Anyone else get this message when they click to view the forum?

There isn't any announcment on the front pages of the site, and August seems a very long time for maintenance, so I thought maybe it was a glitch?

Maybe it's to get rid of all the annoying spam they seem to constantly get on there - there's more spam on coldplay.com than messages these days... :veryangry:

I don't have any problem to access to the coldplay.com forum. It is working fine for me.

^same, it must just be your connection, or possibly an quick error.

you prob should go directly to the forum instead of through the site. just a suggestion.

Hi, this is Will from the band. I’ve sent you this email because the people who run our message board have told me that you are one of the few key members of our online community and We really need your help.

First of all, thank you so much for your continued support not only of our band but also of the website and our general online presence. Secondly we are about to totally relaunch our website and with it, change the way that our fans can interact with us and each other.

Here’s where you come in: the [official] message board will soon be shut down but we really need you to be at centre of the effort to continue to keep the Coldplay community together through as many channels as is necessary. We have a myspace page and i believe that there are other messageboards and Coldplay fan forums which must carry the torch until the new site is ready.

If you have any other suggestions as to how we can achieve this (any new types of social networking or such like) please send them to Debs. When the new site is running we would love it if you could provide feedback as to its usability and content and anything you feel could be done to improve it. I have only sent this email to a handful of people and I hope you understand how much we appreciate your help and continued support. Without you and people like you we would be nowhere.

Thank you very much

Lots of love,

Will

[Thanks Debs]

^sounds neat, i wonder what the new website will look like. The forum still works for me.

My suggestion is the same as ever: make Coldplaying the official board!!

yes^ that would be cool

:o

Will's email.

Wowwww.

*I agree with the squared one.

My suggestion is the same as ever: make Coldplaying the official board!!

that'd be cool

that'd be cool

And very appropriate, as Coldplaying is undeniably cool!!

Maybe we should start an online petition and send it to Will!!:D

that's a good idea too.... let's do it

aw wow how cool! At least they realise there's issues with the main site and taking an interest in it themselves!

"...change the way that our fans can interact with us and each other"

Sounds promising!

that's a good idea too.... let's do it

Well I'm pretty sure Ian wouldn't have any objections!:D

I agree with Mark as well. We could 'carry the torch' for a while.:D

The official site doesn't get along with my computer, so I've only been on there once or twice...it's not that I don't like their forum, just that it doesn't work for me.

SIGN ME UP!

Personally, I've never used the official forum...I signed up but never got in. It's funny, something similar is happening with another band board (The Killers), only it's because the people who run the official forum are complete douchebags.

I suppose unofficial boards tend to be a lot more relaxed...

I don't really use it at all either so in my mind this already IS the main site anyway! lol

I've stated the same myself on numerous occasions in the past, but it would still be great if it got some kind of official recognition, as it definitely deserves it.;)

I'd better tread carefully, though , or I might end up being accused of "brown-nosing"!!

:rolleyes::P

And dull??

ever so slightly....haha

Yeah, I have been a member of all the versions of the official boards over the years - back when there was only the official forum around and Coldplaying was still yet to be conceieved. However since those early days, when there were very few members, the official site's forum has grown as host for endless/pointless threads that make the site very tiresome to even look at - even quite cringeworthy at times.

I suppose that's always going to be the case when I band acquires such a worldwide status.

This board hasn't been quite as bad for this ^......but if the Coldplay.com forum shuts down for a bit......that problem might migrate this way.

I don't really used the Coldplay sections most of the time anyway.....only around album single release times.

NO!

official boards suck ;)

That would never happen here, because the members (and of course, Ian) would be quick to stamp it out.;)

I meant in a totally unofficial way, of course!!
