Something to Sleep To

Featured Replies

So I'm building a playlist right now of songs that are good to go to sleep to... here's what I have so far. I'm looking to make the list 10-20 songs long, so please give me suggestions.

I'LL KEEP THIS UPDATED:

1. Black Wave - The Shins

2. Under The Covers - The Spill Canvas

3. You Could Be Happy - Snow Patrol

4. The Drugs Don't Work - The Verve

5. The Hands That Built America - U2

6. Cloud Watch - Lol Hammond

7. Ruby Tuesday (Rolling Stones Cover) - Franco Battiato

8. Sunday Best - Augustana

9. Fred Jones, Part 2 - Ben Folds

If I think of some others, I'll tell you.

Well, if you're talking relaxing music, may i suggest that Sigur Ros be included? Samsketyi, from the () album has got to be on there.

Hmmm..is this the "official" cping mixtape?

Cos I've got a song to share :D

im uploading that to him as we speak ;)

:P

Nah...I'd rather wait for the official one. Cos this one's from a Croatian artist (instrumental)

Coldplay - For You

makes me sleep each time i listen to it.

(which isn't really bad)

Those happen to be two of my favorite songs ever. :)

Hands that Built America, good choice. I was thinking about that song today oddly enough.

I fall asleep to Funeral quite often. I'm usually out by Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles).

Easy to Please - Coldplay

Us and Them - Pink Floyd

Make This Go On For Ever - Snow Patrol

Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton

The First Time - U2

i think that should do

alright I needed to bump this thread...

the last week or two I've put on Alex & Jonsi's album Riceboy Sleeps and honestly it helps me fall asleep so much quicker.

There haven't been too many albums I've listened to to put me to sleep.

Also I've tried Brian Eno's Apollo Atmospheres & Soundtracks, which is good too.

Videotape - Radiohead

Samkeyti - Sigur Ros

Wide Awake On The Voyage Home - Liam Finn

Cymbal Rush - Thom Yorke

Or most other Sigur Ros songs <3

you seriously need to!

but if you do listen to it before you go to sleep... does the trick to make you tired ahah (though that's not a bad thing)

I second riceboy sleeps. Much of the other stuff people are mentioning are just quiet songs by rock bands, I need something more ambient to get to sleep like:

Brian Eno: 1/1, 2/2, An ending (ascent), First Light

Eluvium: zerthis was a shivering human image, I am so much more me that you are perfectly you,

Hammock: pretty much anything

Classical: preludes and nocturnes by debussy, gymnopedies and nocturnes by eric satie.

^ahh... An Ending (Ascent)... great and chill song. how about Deep Blue Day?

what are some good relaxing eno albums?

the soft lazy warmth of Parachutes, Coldplay

and the melodic but barely audible Iron and Wine

and World Spins Madly On by The Weepies

^second deep blue as well... or for that matter, anything off to apollo atmospheres.

For sleeping, Eno's Apollo Atmospheres, ambient 1: music for airports, ambient 2: the plateau of mirror and The Pearl (the latter-two are collabs with harold budd and feature great piano) are perfect.

I also find some songs off of Another Green World to have a unique ambience as well.
