Having an owner that sacks a manager that came in, turned you club around and had a pretty respectable season is not going to exactly attract talented managers Who's gonna want to work for this guy? Souness? LMFAO sorry dude, I had to say it :P

No One.... I think the season ticket sales will be down by 10000 next season

Premier League prepares for D-Day

_44644356_manutd203.jpg

Cristiano Ronaldo (left) and Rio Ferdinand aim to retain their title

The Premier League is preparing for one of the most dramatic days in the history of the competition.

The league title, Uefa Cup placings and the relegation issues will all be decided on the closing weekend of the 2007-08 season.

All 10 games will kick off simultaneously on Sunday at 1500 BST.

Manchester United need a victory at Wigan to clinch the championship, but if they fail to win Chelsea could pip them to the Premier League crown.

It is only the fourth time in the Premier League's history that the title has gone down to the last game of the season.

If Chelsea, who are at home to Bolton, match United's result then it will be the first time since 1989 that the English champions will be decided on goal difference.

Back then Arsenal beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield, coming from behind to clinch the league in the most dramatic finish in the 120-year history of the English top flight.

Up to 20,000 United fans are expected to make the short journey to the JJB Stadium, hoping that their side will not suffer the same fate.

An estimated 400m people worldwide will follow the drama at the top and bottom of the table.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to win his 10th league title and the club's 17th in total, just one behind their rivals Liverpool.

The club lost the title on the final day of the season in 1968 and 1995, but also won it on the last game in 1996 and 1999.

Ferguson said: "I speak to people abroad and they love the Premier League.

"That's why they show it all over the world. When we played Arsenal the match was seen in 200 countries.

"It is the most exciting league in the world. We are all looking forward to a nail-biting Sunday for the fans."

Chelsea manager Avram Grant took over the club in September and overcame a difficult start to take the club to the Champions League final and to within one game of the Premier League crown.

But he added: "Whatever happens on Sunday I will be very proud of what we have done this season.

"Alex said a few months ago it was the best Manchester United side since he's been coaching. We've given them a battle.

"If they take the title, and I'm not sure they will, it will be on goal difference.

"This is the most competitive league all over the world, so to come second here is better than in all the other leagues, with all due respect."

The two sides recently shared a hostile encounter at Stamford Bridge and will meet again in the Champions League final in Moscow on 21 May.

Grant has promised that no matter what happens on Sunday he will remain friends with Ferguson.

"I promised him an Israeli wine and we're going to drink it before the Champions League final," added Grant.

The top four sides all qualify for the Champions League next season and those places have already been sewn up by Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

But a place in the Uefa Cup is still to be decided, with Everton needing a point at home to Newcastle to seal fifth place and European football.

Aston Villa go to West Ham waiting to pounce if Everton were to slip up.

Villa or Blackburn are the teams most likely to take the Intertoto Cup place, while Manchester City are in pole position to grab another Uefa Cup through the Fair Play league.

At the bottom things are even tighter with two teams to be relegated on the last day.

Derby are already down with a record low points total for a top flight team, with two from three joining them.

Birmingham and Reading go into the final game occupying the final two slots, on 32 and 33 points respectively.

But Fulham are only above the drop zone on goal difference and face a trip to eighth-placed Portsmouth on Sunday.

Reading look like having the easiest game away to Derby, who have only won once all season.

But the Royals have suffered an almighty slump after looking safe in March and have not even scored a goal in 551 minutes of football.

Reading skipper Graeme Murty summed up what slipping out of the top flight means to the clubs.

"You don't play Manchester United in the Championship. You don't play in front of 78,000 people, you go to Plymouth. Home Park's a lovely stadium, but it ain't Old Trafford," he said.

Birmingham are at home to seventh-placed Blackburn in their final game knowing even a win might not be enough to prevent them slipping back to the Championship after just one season.

There are likely to be ups and downs, winners and losers and you can follow all the action right here.

Man City to get a UEFA cup spot...

My two cents we dont deserve it

I DID IT MY WAY

Dr Thaksin's Krazy Guide To Fair Play*: How To Sneak Your Team Into

Euro Vase (with a little help from Human Rights Watch (

http://guardian.chtah.com/a/tBIJHP5AY30QpAe9jDFAcNfh1BP/fvr14 ))

1) Become prime minister of Thailand.

2) Declare war on the horrifying drug trade by issuing the following

horrifying statement: "There is nothing under the sun which the Thai

police cannot do."

3) Sigh in contentment as 87 people are killed in the first week of

the war on drugs. Practise Frank Sinatra impression.

4) Open the papers to discover that the latest victim of the war on

drugs is a nine-year-old shot when police fired at a car carrying him

and his mother (police claim a third party shot at the victim's car).

Do not reflect on how fair it is for a nine-year-old to get a bullet

in the skull. Instead, practise Frank Sinatra impression.

5) Listen as a UN official expresses "deep concern at reports of more

than 100 deaths in Thailand in connection with a crackdown on the

drug trade".

6) Fire off memo reading: "Do not worry about this. The UN is not my

father."

7) Declare "victory" on war on drugs. Ignore the 2,275 people that

have been killed in said war. Ruminate on fact that since the start

of the campaign homicide rate in Thailand has doubled. Practise Frank

Sinatra impression.

8) Read US state department report that Thailand's human rights record

has "worsened with regard to extrajudicial killings and arbitrary

arrests". Practise Frank Sinatra impression.

9) Dismiss the United States an "annoying friend". Pesky Americans!

10) Decide to restore battered international standing by identifying

sleeping giant.

11) Check sleeping giant isn't a drug dealer.

12) Pass Premier League's fit and proper person's test with flying

colours despite Amnesty International saying that "Thaksin did

preside over some very serious human rights violations".

13) Watch as Human Rights FC do the double over Manchester United. Try

to ignore ghost of nine-year-old child whispering in your ear by

humming upbeat version of Blue Moon.

14) Make moves to sack perfectly good manager despite the fact that

his players, the fans, Bob Carolgees and 99.789% of the population of

the universe thinks he is doing a good job.

15) Smile in satisfaction as it looks like your team will be given a

place in next season's Euro Vase for, get this, FAIR PLAY!!!!!!!!!

16) Relax in warm bath of chutzpah and irony whistling My Way.

*Fair Play may involve extra-judicial killings and knee-jerk sackings

of competent, if unspectacular, managers.

Man Utd take Premier League title

_44645576_ronaldo203gett.jpg

Manchester United pipped rivals Chelsea to clinch their 17th title triumph with victory at Wigan.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for United from the spot after 33 minutes following Emmerson Boyce's foul on fit-again Wayne Rooney.

Emile Heskey then wasted Wigan's best chance with a second-half header.

And substitute Ryan Giggs clinched United's Premier League triumph - his 10th - with a cool finish from Rooney's pass 10 minutes from time.

It sent manager Sir Alex Ferguson dancing down the touchline in the rain at the JJB Stadium in triumph.

And the thousands of Manchester United supporters inside the stadium celebrated a second successive title as Giggs lifted the Premier League trophy.

Ferguson will now turn his attentions to winning the Double when United face Chelsea in the Champions League final in Moscow on 21 May.

Wigan were as good as their pre-match words, putting up fierce resistance before United made their superiority tell when it mattered.

United were strengthened by the return of Rooney and Nemanja Vidic after injury, but Wigan proved more than a match in a closely-fought first half.

Paul Scholes was rightly booked by referee Steve Bennett for a wild challenge on Wilson Palacios as United fought to establish a foothold, although he also posed their best early threat with a 20-yard shot which he pulled wide.

Boyce then wasted a half-chance for Wigan before Steve Bruce's side were denied what looked to be a penalty after 22 minutes when Rio Ferdinand leaned to block Jason Koumas's shot with his upper arm.

Wigan's frustration increased 11 minutes later when Bennett pointed to spot after Rooney tumbled under Boyce's challenge and Ronaldo sent Chris Kirkland the wrong way with the minimum of fuss.

Scholes was then the beneficiary of remarkable leniency from referee Bennett when, having already been booked, he blatantly blocked Palacios as he escaped down the right flank.

As the whole stadium awaited the red card, Scholes and United were relieved when Bennett only delivered a stern lecture.

The second half began in a deluge, with the pitch becoming treacherous, and Ronaldo tested Kirkland with a rising 30-yard free-kick which the keeper turned over the top.

Wigan may have felt they were due a stroke of luck, and they got one after 52 minutes when Scholes was clearly upended by Titus Bramble but referee Bennett and his assistants this time ignored United's claims.

United were more impressive after the break as they went in search of the second goal that would virtually seal the title, but Kirkland saved brilliantly low to his right from Rooney.

Kirkland was Wigan's hero again after 58 minutes with a crucial block from Carlos Tevez's deflected shot.

United made a double change with 25 minutes left, sending on Owen Hargreaves for Scholes and Giggs for Ji-Sung Park in quick succession.

Heskey then gave United their biggest scare of the afternoon with a powerful header from Koumas's free-kick that was inches off target.

The title was on its way to Old Trafford after 80 minutes, and fittingly it was veteran Giggs who scored the clincher, taking Rooney's clever pass in his stride to slide home a composed finish from 12 yards.

Did anyone else hear someone say "F**king hell" quite loud on Sky before the games kicked off, when they were saying that James McFadden was injured. That was funny :P

Boro did well.

8-1 ????????? not a good way to help Sven keep his job

Bye, Bye Sven.. I dont think we can not defend him on this one...

Nice on Dunne, I always knew you wernt up for it..

f.. off to Newcastle and enjoy the company of your fellow pissed head Barton.. !

All season I have been so over the moon with SGE.. In fact the evening we got him as Manager I went on a session of all time.

However the 2nd half of the season, apart from the win against the Swampmire has been a disgrace..

I have sussed out Dunne from the start, he was never good enough I can't believe he won the fans player of the year yet again this year.. What do we smoke in Manchester.

1. We don't deserve to be in Europe ( please I really hope Fulham have beaten us to it)

2. We need to be rid of Sven.

3. We need to be realistic next season and avoid relegation to the Championship..

In addition I would be quite surprised if Dr T does not cut his losses and walk from the Club or even just do one, on how we treated him. We have all been wrong. I now regret signing the petition in keeping Sven to stay.

I am sorry I was short sighted like the other 17.999 other City fans.. We have a long history of being short sighted..

Not a good day :(

1 - Debt Utd are chumpions, should have been Chelsea

2 - Aston Villa should have gotten 5th place :(

3 - Fulham should have gone down instead of Reading :(

why do you suddenly think you need to get rid off sven?

a 8-1 DEFEAT a total disgrace... embarrresment..

We could have lost 100000000-0 nil today and still got into europe..

However our fans (had better ideas and thought it would be a great idea to throw there seats on to the pitch)

Dunne a player who is going to be leaving the club, got himself sent off.

If we do get into Europe I hope UEFA say we can not be trusted.
