I pray

Featured Replies

i honestly do pray

every exam i've ever done in my life i pray

to God and the Virgin Mary

and to family relatives who've died- the more the better

it's almost becoming a ritual

i have to pray at night before i go to bed

and then just before the exam- usually in the toilet where i can do it in privacy

i pray for good questions and that i answer them correctly

i also pray that the examiners mark me positively and give the benefit of the doubt

i'm not religious in the sense i don't go to church every week

but i DEFINITELY believe in god and i get great comfort from it

Yeah, I am "religous" (I hate that term). I always pray before exams as well. Usually when I'm on the toilet because I feel like crap from being so nervous so I have to go take a crap and just relax.

Sometimes the discussions with God get quite intense.

i don't say it out loud or anything

i just keep it to myself

and it's an unwritten rule that you must NEVER shit at school

Haha, yeah I never ever took a dump in high school.

But at university for whatever reason I do all the time. I guess because the bathrooms are near restaurants and stuff like that. I try to hold it in, but when you gotta go, you gotta go.

I do at home, but not at school haha.

I need to clean my toilet, its starting to get dirty.

:laugh3:

totally off topic now :laugh3:

I should be praying btw.. 1 hr left to an exam :bigcry:

:laugh3: From the sublime to the ridiculous. :uhoh:

Yeah, there's an old cliche that goes "as long as there are tests, there will always be prayer in school".

I just had a music theory test today... I could not remember all of the names of the modes (ionain, phrysian, mixolydian... those ones) to save my life. Studying wasn't helping, my mind was blank, and I was getting scared. So I prayed, and it all came flooding back. Aced the test, too.

Prayer has been very helpful the past year as it has been a difficult one for me.

The last time I prayed was back in primary school, when they tried to make you believe in god.

I'm religious. Again I don't use the word much cause I'm not in that type that I go to church and pray every night or all that.

I don't like prayer in the form it's usually done either. It all seems a bit formal for me, like, if I said to myself "Yeah I'm gonna pray before my exam" or before I go to sleep, I'd feel like I was doing it just to do it, and not cause I needed it.

I instead choose to believe that whatever I'm saying to myself in my head, he's hearing. It's not so much prayer as to just talking and having him listen.

That's how I think of it anyways.

Ditto.

When I look back at Primary School there really wasn't any discussion - it was just "This is the way it is!". I also remember a girl in the top year, 1 above me, getting taken out of an assembly because she said she didn't agree.....she was 11 years old.

I don't try and force people into believing the evolution theory, they can have their own opinions if there is a god/ are gods.

I always pray which basically I should to do it...

Wherever the location, and situation, but I have to do it...

However sometimes I'm kinda lazy, but not usually as well...

true. a friend of mine doesn't believe in God and another of mine is really quite religious. they both live together and get along fine. it's been that way since primary school and we're all in uni now and things are still the same.

ok back on topic. i recently had my exams and as usual, i prayed before every exam, the night before and on the day. i always pray that i do my best and that everything is fair. i don't see any need to explain my situation and He already knows what going on, so i keep it short and simple.

i also pray every night before i go to bed. i don't consider myself religious in the sense i go to church every sunday etc, but i do believe in God and we have a great relationship :smug2:

I don't pray. I'm not really religious, but I respect others who are and believe in God as long as they're not fanatics and try to convert everyone they know into their religion (unless they're asked to).

In a way I do believe in God, or at least in something "higher" and more spiritual than us, but I guess this discussion isn't for this topic.
