September 25, 200718 yr i am excited beyond words... it sounds like the album is practically done... and i think "time is short" means that we may have some new to listen to earlier than we thought. what a great day!!!!... Coldplay and Halo 3... who could ask for more?
September 25, 200718 yr Jonny, too, has explored a whole new universe of sounds magicking up a new world for each song. His guitars are all over this album.yeah baby!
September 25, 200718 yr OMG reading this made me so excited!! does this mean they have finished recording the album?? i wonder when it will be released / the title announced!!! SO EXCITING!! :) :) :) :)
September 25, 200718 yr I am a bit afraid of what that new star implies. Energy? So that might mean the new songs are hard...hard enough to go metal-thrash. :uhoh2: So not good news, IMO. was just reading the little bit about the hardest part 'terrible song, good video....' :laugh3: true! So not true. :P I love the song.
September 25, 200718 yr I am a bit afraid of what that new star implies. Energy? So that might mean the new songs are hard...hard enough to go metal-thrash. :uhoh2: So not good news, IMO. Energy doesn't only apply to tempo and 'hardness'. Energy is a quality, an element to any song. I'm listening to Beirut's new album (They're like a folk band) and I can say that it has a different energy from their last album. It seems more intense and urgent. Do you see? To assume that Coldplay's gone thrash metal on us is almost as absurd as thinking that they've gone hip-hop/jazz on us. Although I suppose nothing's impossible....
September 25, 200718 yr I thought i was excited waiting for X&Y to come out but i think im more excited about this album because of everything that is being said. And when it comes to the bands music they have never dissapointed!! An the fact that they are trying to go in somewhat of a new direction and that they are pushing themselves really excites me!I cant freakin wait now!!!
September 25, 200718 yr New 07 star...very positive update about the new album! :) It's the sound of a songwriter at the peak of his ability. Lyrically and melodically, Chris seems to have broken through past constraints. There's a new confidence to venture beyond the limit of the known and comfortable. An urge to explore and discover. I think the fact that Prospekt mentioned that Chris realizes time is short is not due to the album coming out sooner, but rather that time in life is short ... perhaps that will be reflected in the lyrics? Perhaps he'll bring that "hope" that he always brings to the music, for example stating that "life is short but make the most of it ..." that sort of thing. I noticed that a few times it has been mentioned that he is breaking through the constraints of his past writing. What I take from that is that Coldplay could very well NOT be making a typical record, but something out of the oridinary (i.e. chord changes, structure, etc.). That's just my interpretation though. Maybe we'll have another "Pet Sounds" on our hands when it comes out ... something that Coldplay will be legendary for and our children's children will look it up because it was a masterpiece. I can almost imagine listening to it ... you think the chords are going to go one way, then suddenly they take a U-Turn and the song goes into a minor key or whatever. That whole thing reminds me of what Silverchair have done lately ... it keeps you listening and you can't possibly compare it to anyone else because it is so original. -Eric

See, I know energy is sometimes a good thing. Sometimes being the key word. But now, I am a bit worried. Because, Prospekt has given me that thought - I mean, firstly he mentions metal-thrash songs, and now he's talking about powerful energy! (his energy is electrifying - sometimes intimidating. a magic bundle of love, passion and rage:uhoh2:). These news are intimidating! :bigcry: I don't want the next album to be shite. I've waited too long. Please, Mr Martin! What, you disagree that their new album can indeed turn out this way?
September 25, 200718 yr Lyrically and melodically Does that sound very thrash? Come on, Chrissy and thrash...LMFAO!
September 25, 200718 yr Does that sound very thrash? Come on, Chrissy and thrash...LMFAO! I hope that it's not true. But you cannot exclude the possibility. He thinks all of his songs are shit :dozey:
September 25, 200718 yr Before Prospekt's journal entry - "Oh yay, a new Coldplay album, I can't wait! It's gonna be awesome, I can't wait for it to be released!!!" After Prospekt's journal entry - "DEAR GOD!!!" *has a heart attack*
September 26, 200718 yr Do you guys remember Will saying they will still focus on great melodies and such? Don't worry about trash metal...lol. They aren't about to abandon their fanbase like that.
September 26, 200718 yr Friday, 21 September - London It's the sound of a songwriter at the peak of his ability. Lyrically and melodically, Chris seems to have broken through past constraints. There's a new confidence to venture beyond the limit of the known and comfortable. An urge to explore and discover. His energy is electrifying - sometimes intimidating. A manic bundle of love, passion, and rage. A veracious appetite for life, eagerly devouring every minute of every day. He knows that time is short. The four of them together make up a formidable unit, and this is the album people will remember them by. Prospekt wow!! my Chris Love:kiss:you kept all your efforts damn....:kiss: i love it! great!:)
