I like the notes, but we need more informations about the album.

In my eyes all these little notes on their homepage are totally uninteresting.

Who really needs them? There's no bit of information in them.

They should stop posting these notes and give more information about the new album (more then once per month).

It would make the fans more excited and wouldn't be a big deal for them.

agreed. i love love love the notes, and new ones do make me quite happy, but for right now i'd totally forgo the notes about things that happened in the past for more current info!! according to debs, it "shouldnt be too much longer," but COME ON, GUYS, PLEASE!! i must say that if theyre as far along with it as they seem to be and if theyre going to tell us soon, why cant they just tell us NOW? they must have all the info layed out, right?

I don't know, maybe I'm the only one, but I thought the boys were giving away quite a lot about the new album: the letters from 'prospekt' about how the recording is going, the possible song titles... what more do you want?! Anymore and they'll be giving us the lyrics!

 

As much as updates are good, they probably don't want to give away too much information about the tracks or it will all be old news by the time the album is released. They have to build up the tension slowly or they won't get all the hype around the release date.

 

As for when it is being released, if they are still working on it they probably don't even know themselves. Also with all the EMI joblosses they probably haven't committed to a date yet.

Nice. Careful where you stand is a personal fav. I's hard to find a warmer or comforting coldplay song.

I like how on MySpace the bulletin announcing it was all 'Rare recording of obscure song <i>Carefuly Where You Stand</i> now up on coldplay.com!' and I'm sitting there like 'Psssh... I've had that song for years.'

that song is one of my all-time favorites. its just incredible: the lyrics, the mood...everything.

 

it took me ages to work out that theres like no percussion in the entire song, though! i think that's part of what gives it that special feel.

This was our first TV appearance I think. I don't believe you can ever comprehend that what you do in a small studio with a few people can be seen by so many 'viewers'. Terrifying!

Gary Brooker came on after us and played 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' and we felt totally insignificant. Great song that.

In two days it would be 6 weeks since they've said anything about the album... is this the longest we've had to wait for a Prospekt journal entry? I just wish they'd say something already. I'm tired of telling myslef "ok, I can hold out till next week for some info" and then it never comes.

Another thing I'm confused about - In their note about their 10th anniversary, Guy says "we're gonna celebrate in New York where we are mixing the album", but I thought they finished mixing already... I forgot where I read that, maybe from the article in the Q magazine (I might be wrong). This contradiction fustrates me.

me too. whining it is.

 

last month i was so sure that the next prospekt entry would be THE ONE with the release date in it, but it wasnt. now i have the same feeling (especially since its been so long since we've heard anything new), but i dont want to set myself up for disappointment again.

 

i'm beginning to feel like they OWE us an update, but that's really not fair considering that theyre amazing for keeping us as updated as they have in the past and for writing all these great, personal little journal entries when most bands dont do anything like that. but i'm starting to feel a bit neglected, no matter how unfounded that is. and i would think that if its coming out as soon as we all think it must (may-ish), theyve got to tell us quite soon.

 

i'm holding onto debs saying "it wont be too much longer" or whatever she said. thats the most encouraging thing i've heard in a while.

^ I agree with everything you said, but all I can say now is lets not get our hopes up if we're hoping for next week to be "the week" where they drop the Prospekt entry we'll always remember. The wait is driving me to the point where I think i should just not check this forum or the official coldplay one for a week or two, because I'm checking constantly every day hoping for some kind of leak to happen. I don't know whether I can do that though, too difficult.
