September 14, 200718 yr I'm a bit bored well.. I just came back home and now it's time for national holidays (sept 18-19) so next week people just celebrates and no school, uni or job.. it's awesome... and it's my favourite part of the year. happiness is in the air... everyone wants to celebrate in different ways... and there's so much food and dances and tipical stuff... it's cool empanadas anticuchos lots of alcohol and more and more food and a parade etc etc etc... so... what do you do for national holidays?
September 14, 200718 yr Author really?? this year 18 and 19 are tuesday and wednesday so now there's a law that says that everytime it happens the monday 17 it's a bank holiday too :dance: ...

September 15, 200718 yr mid-sem break coming up, week after next and i can't wait. however listing all the assessments etc that need to be done...doesn't seem much of a "break", but i'll take it either way lol totally not complaining! i am counting down the days, can't wait in fact. going to reeeelax on the coast, attend my friend's 21st and meet up with old school friends... a whole 10 days without classes is fine with me :cool:

September 15, 200718 yr January 26th is Australia Day. It's not very formal, very laid back. Most people just fire up the barbecue and have a game of backyard cricket! There is an Australia Day Test Match in cricket which is also very popular to watch.

September 15, 200718 yr Author haha right....I've just realised that we don't have parades like this... it's a big parade.. with the police, military, air force, etc... the president goes there and also there's some people who dance typical dances ... and you can watch that on tv but it's a bit boring sometimes :laugh3:
