She adopted a dog who was rescued and signed some papers (from some agency) saying that if for whatever reason she was unable to take care of the dog that she would give it back. Well she has some cats or something and they just didn't get along with the dog and she couldn't keep it.

Well apparently she forgot about the papers and her hairstylist family were looking for a dog who happened to fell in love with her dog. So she thought there wouldn't be a problem in giving the dog away to a 'loving' family who wants to take care of the dog. Well the agency found out about it (actually she told them when they called her 'cause they keep in touch to see how the dog is doing) and after she told them the truth, they took away the dog from the hairstylist family.

 

 

It's all silly to me really. The hairstylist family can't keep the dog because they have under 13 years old age kids. I never knew that you couldn't have a dog if you were under 13 yrs old but apparently that's a policy that they have there.

 

The reason she is crying is because she obviously cares about the dog and

didn't think there would be a problem in giving away the dog to someone close. I think that's a stupid policy.. they should give the dog back and it's her show. How do do you expect someone to do something when they don't feel right? It's like throwing up.. you can't really help it or control it. By the way, she has addressed other issues before and her shows are more about transmitting positive energy and to have a good time and laugh.

Well ask them that. It is everyone's question. They said that the family who had the dog can't keep it because they have under 13 year old girls and that's a policy of theirs. I think kids are very well capable of taking care of dogs. But anyway, that's the story..:dozey:

Well see she was the one who invited this charity adoption thing who were rescuing dogs all over to her show and trying to find them a home so she adopted one.........so probably feels the need to tell her viewers what happened since some of them might have also adopted a dog too.

I think the rule that was broken had to do with the fact that she gave the dog away (not about the ages of kids). Apparently she breeched the contract, which stated that since she adopted the dog, he was to remain in her ownership. (Which is silly) The animal adoption agency were real pricks about it and threatened to slander her name in the media. :( Poor Ellen. I really love her show...she's so lively and down to earth. I say good for her for expressing her feelings on air. I hope the dog gets returned to the family.

she's funny and intelligent, but an idiot? no way. she has a strong heart for animals, something some here obviously don't have.
