Visiting England - any recommendations?

Featured Replies

Hi All!

I will be coming to England for a few weeks over the holidays, and I was hoping to get some recomendations as to where to go while I'm there for 3 weeks.

Since this is my first time, I don't want to miss a "must see". If you have visited, or are English, please let me know where you should think I should go (cities) or visit (castles, museums, etc.).

Please be specific so that I can find it!

Cheers!

well, i've been to the united kingdom for three times. i think i'd recommend edinburgh, liverpool, london and brighton to you. those cities are really nice in my opinion. and scotland is all very interesting, with its history, castles and nature.

Cool, thanks. I have been told to go to Bath, and I think Stonehenge is on the way there? Although, it's fenced in, right? You cannot get too close I hear.

I'll look into Winchester...any particular reason to go there?

And then you can pop along from there to The Valley, which is a must-see!!

The Liverpool digs are jokes right. Or is there another bunch of North West haters lurking.

Sorry I'm paranoid, it's just I've been on tonnes of other forums and there are knobs who genuinely do hate the place and are really offensive and it just pisses me off more than anything.

By the way, you could also visit Battle and go Keane hunting. I did that the other week - I didn't see them lol :(

Don't be a paranoid android. We're only having a laff!!:P

Stolen any hubcaps recently??

By the way - I thought "hunting" was banned??

its hard to laugh at jokes you've heard a thousand times before.

free london stuff

hey, go to the Southbank. Get off at Waterloo station and walk toward the river Thames. Turn right and walk for 10-15 mins. It's a great walk, with great views...you then end up at the Tate Modern, where most of the art is free to view there. excellent music venues on the southbank too, like the Royal Festival Hall...!

And thanks to you sally. I apprecriate your suggestions, and I think a trip to Liverpool is definely on.

And Mark...thanks for spamming my thread so much, yet contributing so little!

I am eagerly waiting for visit in England. You can stay in Abbey Court Hotel. It is an elegant five storey townhouse located in the fashionable area of Notting Hill. You must see Cumbria, the lake district, Car of Star of the Motor museum, Beatrix potter gallery.
