Pretty good movie. :) Still have to agree with everyone, Casino Royale was better, but this one was good too. Daniel Craig is awesome...

I watched "Ein Quantum Trost" - that's how it's called here haha - yesterday and I have to admit that Casino Royale was a bit better, but I still enjoyed this one, too! It was an amazing film!!! A lot more action compared to the previous films I'd say. I missed some more action in the bed though LOL.

Ohhh and this movie is a good possibility to improve your Spanish skills as the main action takes place in Latin America hehe. ;)

I was surprised that one part took also place in Bregenz, Austria. It was exactly the same stage at Lake Constance where ZDF channel broadcasted its Euro 2008 show a few months ago. :)

Just saw it last night at midnight here in the States. And I have to say as a Bond fan that I really did not enjoy it.

Don't get me wrong. It was a great action movie, and it kept me entertained, but it was a Bourne movie...it wasn't a Bond movie. If I want a gritty revenge action film with a shaky-cam, quick-cut setup, I'll watch the Bourne films. When I think of a Bond movie, I certainly don't think of this. Daniel Craig is entertaining and great in the role...I just don't think of him as Bond. And I don't care if this is "new" or a "reboot" of Bond. That's not what I want or expect when I go to see a Bond movie--I want fun, cheesy action that isn't so self-pretentious. God, I miss Roger Moore.

Hm, I thought I had a valid opinion. :\

my dad, being the massive bond fan he is, entered a competition and won free tickets to see QOS 2 days before its released here in australia, so he's taking me with him.

i'll get to see it on monday, so i'll report back then.

I completely agree with you. I liked it a lot, but it didn't seem as Bond-ish as the older ones (naturally). I miss Roger Moore too. I know a lot of people didn't like him because they said he was too cheesy, but I think that really fits into the whole Bond persona... as well as the gadgets, the car chases, and the girls of course. :P

^There are way too many cheesy films around (most action movies seem to go down that route). It's great to have something not playing it for laughs for once.

Even Roger Moore himself admits he was the worst Bond ever.

Yet I feel that the cheesiness is a required part of Bond. Just take the last line of Moonraker--Q saying, "I think he's attempting re-entry, sir." Brilliant stuff, and basically exactly what Bond is all about, at least in my mind. Craig gives us none of that, which I find unfortunate.

Times have changed. When Moonraker was released, that sort of thing was unique, but nowadays there are dozens of imitators.

The 007 brand is defined by the gadgets, the cars, and the character himself.

Anything else is purely peripheral.;)

I had been so disappointed by the Brosnan efforts I was blown away by just how good Casino Royale was.

Some of the sequences in recent years had become way too far-fetched (e.g. a helicopter flying out of a fireball plane in mid-air). That was as ludicrous as some of the things that happened in the likes of Independence Day and Armageddon, which both sucked.

Thankfully sanity has returned to the Bond franchise, and long may it continue.

If it's comedy you're after, I suggest you go and watch Austin Powers.

This wasn't exactly the most realistic Bond movie either, I mean their parachute was open for 3 seconds, before they landed safely in a rocky cave

Base jumpers sometimes do something similar.

Anyway, nobody's saying all the action sequences have to be 100% possible, just not completely ludicrous like those scenes in the Brosnan films.

Just seen this with my eyes for the first time, and here is what I thought of it which what I posted on Twitter and that.

"Just watched Quantum of Solace for the first time and it was very, very disappointing. I spent the whole thing thinking.

"What's going on here? Is it all gonna kick off yet? He's doing a bit of chasing. When's it going to kick off!? Ah, It's finished".

I was so annoyed at how rubbish it was, I took the DVD case and let it glide across my rear (With jeans on obviously).

Apologies to whoever is the next person to take that specific DVD case out from Blockbuster."

So as you can tell from that, Me no likey.

that Daniel Craig is the worst Bond!. It's obvious!

And "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace" aren't part of the best Bond Movies
