To be honest, I am not that excited about it unless they come up with some new songs. The Eraser live is pretty good, and a few songs at the end is nice. I just don't think it's that exciting of a concept without some new twists.

i guess thom could'nt come up w/ a band name

Yeah, he should be like Dave Matthews and just call it the Thom Yorke Band :D

As previously reported, Thom Yorke co-hosted Gilles Peterson's radio show on BBC Radio 1 yesterday. You can now listen to the show right here. In between dubstep tracks (Yorke plays a lot of dubstep and dubstep variants), Yorke had a few things to say.

On the state of both Radiohead and his solo career, Yorke said, "Radiohead is still doing stuff. In fact, we're starting another session for a month in two days. And the Eraser band that I got together, we're going to do something, hopefully in April, but I think that's just more gigs. And then maybe that'll lead somewhere, as well. There's lots of stuff going on, but not enough coming out yet...My biggest trouble at the moment is trying to keep up, but I prefer it that way." Yorke will indeed play Coachella with his new band, which includes Nigel Godrich and Flea.

On the show, Yorke also talked about tentative plans he once had to work with abstract rap producer Madlib, saying that Madlib sent him beats but the project never worked out because "the timing was crap". Yorke reported that he's also done "some stuff with" Madvillain, and a remix will probably come out "soon". He also said that it's "perfectly possible" that he'll do more than a remix with Madlib and/or DOOM.

Yorke also mentioned his recent trip to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, sounding pretty unhappy about the whole experience: "It was all looking like things could happen, and then it went horrendously tits up. So it was a weird place to be, but I'm glad I saw it." He also said that American politicians will be the key to getting any climate change reform to happen.

Most of the talk on the show is just chit-chat, though, like when Yorke shared that he first heard about Can because the Stone Roses would always mention them in interviews, or when he says that he likes posting playlists on Radiohead's site because Jonny Greenwood's taste is "just so opposite to mine, completely." Also, Yorke discussed how he doesn't like touring much, especially flying, and says that Radiohead looked into the possibility of touring by train before realizing that it wasn't a realistic possibility.

Beyond all the dubstep, Yorke and Peterson picked a pretty wide-ranging selection of tracks, including songs by Charles Mingus, Jay Electronica, Can, Clinic, and Dam-Funk.

Thom Yorke Guests on New Flying Lotus Album Cosmogramma

Full album details revealed Thom Yorke Guests on New Flying Lotus Album Cosmogramma

In an interview last month, Los Angeles beat mangler Flying Lotus told us a little bit about Cosmogramma, his forthcoming album: "I'm finally getting to the point where I can make the kind of records that I want to make-- that I wanted to make when I was younger, things that I dreamed about making. It's this fusion-y kind of thing where all the elements of the music that I love are there."

Warp will release Cosmogramma in the U.S. on May 4 and a day earlier in the UK. And hey, look who's on there! Some guy named Thom Yorke.

I'm so excited

i'm definitely getting tickets... i don't care

This whole thom yorke solo thing doesn't excite me any longer. I mean, it's great, don't get me wrong. It's just hard to get excited about an above average album (the eraser) being played in sequential order and perhaps 4 new songs, like lotus flower. I just wish they would do something different besides the eraser. This whole project hasn't taken shape the way I thought it would. I liked the Eddie vedder solo project/tour better.
