Listening to The Eraser right now...

for like the first time ever. :shame:

...I don't know. D:

I've listened to Radiohead for about six year and I just never listened to Thom's solo stuff. Which now that I've ever it, I feel even worse because it's amazing and how have I been missing out on this?

hey

who else thought that the lyrics of Present Tense says:

"distance is like a weapon... of self-defense... against the present tense..."

instead of

"this dance ..."

i really like the song with "distance" it's better...

i was also confused w/ the lyrics... i like them both but at this point i like "this dance" better

Thom Yorke wrote three new songs for Tibet documentary

Posted on January 4th, 2010.

Just before the weekend we reported about Thom Yorke’s work for the Tibet Documentary. It turns we’re getting more than just one song on the soundtrack.

‘When The Dragon Swallowed The Sun’ is the documentary on the inside perspective on the Tibetan movement to free Tibet from Chinese occupation, its internal conflicts and contradictions. More details are now available. In an interview TwentyFoutBit director Dirk Simin revealed that Thom Yorke wrote three new songs for a particular chapter of the film. Damien Rice has also written a song for the documentaryand composer Philip Glass has penned the main theme for the film, including a piece for a key “grand finale” sequence.

This is very exciting! I wonder what these songs will sound like and when they'll be released.

Thom Yorke, TVOTR's Tunde, Deerhunter's Bradford Cox Remix Liars

You know Liars' fifth album, Sisterworld, is out March 9 on Mute. But you didn't know the trio are also releasing an expanded version of the album featuring a bonus disc filled with "remixes and reinterpretations" from a few people you may have heard of. People like Thom Yorke, TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, Bradford Cox, Melvins, Suicide's Alan Vega, Throbbing Gristle offshoot Chris & Cosey, and Blonde Redhead. (Thom Yorke is in that band Radiohead, btw.)

Neck-snap first single "Scissor" is officially released in digital form February 16-- listen to it here. Liars are also going on tour in support of Sisterworld with a handful of North American dates lined up for April. Those are listed post-jump:

We have heard Thom talk highly of this band especially their album Drum's Not Dead. Should be interesting to hear the remix.

This!

i'm gonna start saving for tickets now... i mean why would he play only 1 show?

someone posted on atease that they looked in the ticket section and they did a test, which included a section that mentioned reserved seats. from what I know I don't think that coachella has reserved seats (only GA right?)... if this is the case perhaps he will be doing a tour?

I always tend to think big when it comes to Radiohead... the smallest things meaning the biggest things.

some twitter updates found by people on atease:

BBC6MusicNews: Thom Yorke says he'll be playing Coachella "soon, probably," and that his Eraser band is going to be doing more gigs in April.

BBC6MusicNews: Thom Yorke also says Radiohead are very busy in the studio - next release we'll see from him is probably a Liars remix though.

let the excitement begin!!! :dance:

Thom Yorke to Co-Host Radio Show

Tomorrow, January 20, at 2:00 London time, Thom Yorke will co-host Gilles Peterson's radio show on BBC Radio 1. (Via TwentyFourBit.) According to the show's website, Yorke and Peterson will "join the musical dots - soul, hip hop, house, Afro, Latin, dubstep, jazz and beyond." A preview video on shows Yorke goofing around and doing his trademark adorable/nerdy dance moves. Check out that video below.

In related news, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that the "Thom Yorke ????" billed as playing this year's Coachella is indeed the same band he debuted last fall: Yorke joined by Flea, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco. The question marks are simply due to the fact that they never came up with a name for the band.
