... why i'm actually starting a thread now, but i feel like writing a bit.

today at school in the third lessen we were told that our headmaster passed away the night before.

all the teachers cried as well as most of the students.

there were no classes today.

but most of us stayed at school to talk and to pray.

he wasn't the usual strict headmaster. he was kind, funny and he always had a smile upon his face. he encouraged students, motivated them and now he is just gone.

i'm not angry. but there's still a horrible feeling left.

he was so young and i just saw him yesterday for the very last time. and even then he was smiling.

I'm sorry to hear that.

One of the teachers of my school passed away during the christmas break and it was really shocking to hear that even though she never was my teacher.

I'm really sorry to hear that, grace ;/ do you know how he died?

^ no, that is the weirdest thing.

he was in his 50's and he was in a really good shape!

i guess it was something with his heart.

awee that's scary, when it happens to someone who you think is healty and strong :(

That's so sad. My headmaster is in his sixties but he has been with the school ever since it re-opened in '93. I've been to his house (with other people) for a 'School Captains' dinner and he is really really funny and nice and I seriously felt like I was having dinner with my dad. I get angry when people assume he's like, evil just because he is a bit old.

If he died today I think my school would collapse, he really is the centre of the whole thing and one of the reasons my school exists.

I hope your school is ok Grace.

omg thats terrible! i'm so sorry to hear that

I'm so sorry, Grace! He seemed to be an amazing man.

The good seem to die young, and it's such ashame. Your headmaster will always be remembered as a great man

wow , that is really shocking.

Sorry to hear about it.

that's horrible. i'm so sorry, grace. things like that really devastate a community.

we recently just got a new headmaster (well, i'm not a student there anymore, so i should probably say "they"), so if he died i don't know what the reaction would really be, but we had this one headmaster for most of my time there who was just one of the greatest people i've ever met in my life, and he just WAS our school, he was the embodiment of it. if he died, even though he left, i think our school would have a similar reaction.

i hope your school will be alright as well.

I'm sorry, Grace. It's awful when a person dies, especially if (s)he's healthy and young and good. :(

that's so sad :(

RIP

Aww I'm very sorry Grace... :(

So sorry to hear about it, Grace. There's always an empty space for a while, even after the anger and tears have gone. Fill it with good memories and prayers for his family & friends. That really got me through times of grief.

yeah, they've arranged a room for him yesterday when it happened.

there's couches in there and books and one can write down memories.

and on the other side of the room there's some sorta altar. a huge pic of a lighthouse and lots of candles and flowers.

yesterday we gathered together in one of the school buildings and our current headmaster spoke a few words..

she sxplained why there's the picture of the lighthouse.

it used to hang in his office. the lighthouse is set on some island he used to visit during Easter break. he checked the weather there daily and the day before he died he said,"oh, it is sunny there! i bet they're all at the swimming pool. i wish we were there now!"

and this morning i helped lighting all the candles again.

there's a weird yet warm tension in that room.

thats sad... I am sorry for you all !

R.I.P. for your headmaster, he sounded good.

It's always sad when someone you know passes away
