Oh, you don't know the half of it! I disliked Yellow so much, I would literally plug my ears with my fingers and go lalala until it, or any other Coldplay song, ended.

Then I bought my brother the 2003 Live DVD for Christmas and the second I saw them and really heard them, omg, I was hooked! Jonny just blew me away with

his guitar playing, and Guy had to be the hardest working bass player out there at that time.

 

Funny thing is, I only actually watched the dvd a couple of times before I ran out and bought A Rush of Blood to the Head and listened to that non-stop.

I never really thought about what they did before that album, so when I stumbled upon my copy of the dvd a couple of weeks back, and started watching all these

songs I never knew existed, I had to go out and get Parachutes and get a true introduction to their music!

 

I've been listening to this jumble of songs from all their albums now for the past couple of weeks, almost non-stop and you know what?

Even though their music has evolved since Parachutes, it all basically blends together into a cohesive body of work. JMO :D

 

Oh, wow. Leave it to a live show (which you're not actually at and only seeing on DVD, but still...) to turn it around.

 

I've always liked the band myself, loved the songs and whatnot, but it hasn't been until the last few years that I really started delving a lot deeper, too. I fully agree with you on that last sentence in your post, I think all the albums make perfect sense together and you can easily see where one progresses into the other. I love seeing how they've changed over time, makes me wonder what else they're capable of in the future.

 

So. Video, eh? I'm going to need to watch this now that we've seemed to try and figure out how to get it to play. And see the new thread as well.

I love them all too, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Jonny. Chris is AMAZING! But I've always liked the quiet ones,lol.:) I'm only aware of two dedicated Jonny fanatics on the board,lol. He doesn't draw the fangirls, but I'm not really the fangirl type...except when you corruptors coerce me,lol.

Awwwww! Well, I now have that for my very own... thank goodness hubby doesn't snoop

The reason why I put this video here it's because it made me laugh...I was looking for this performance of My Place in Berlin and I found this video make by an Italian...I'm 99% sure [Dany confirms me what I'm to say] that at the end [about 3:30] one gilrs says [in Italian of course] "Lo ama?" ("Does he love him?") :laugh3:

Oh but I really love Jonny too, after Chris there is him. He is a great musician and a lovely boy, the kind of people I'd like to have as friend in my life [and when he was more young he really looks like my best friend, I can't not love him!]

I fell in love with their overall sound, but the first time I was them live, it was Jonny's guitar in Shiver and Spies that made me a diehard fan.:)

Fully understandable :). He is a quiet guy, isn't he? I'm one of the quiet ones, too(seriously, I'm much more chatty online than I am offline), so if I were to hang out with Jonny, we wouldn't have much of a conversation. Just a lot of awkward silence :laugh3:. I apparently seem to follow the "opposites attract" saying, then, because I always go for the lead singers-Chris is just the latest in that list, and they're by nature not quiet at all :p.

Well, you sure do seem to hang out in the threads for the guys often... Just what are you doing in there if not fangirling? Hmmmmmm?

 

I can be a definite fangirl sometimes, I freely admit that. But I like to think I'm a fairly mature one, and know when to get all girly and when to shut up and focus on something else. Maybe. Sort of? Hopefully.

 

Well, as you see, you've got another person in the Jonny camp there, so hey, the club's slowly growing (look at it this way, the smaller the crowd of girls going for one band member, the better that bodes for you :p).
