I found out that when a parakeet's nose changes color its actually means that its maturing so if its a solid dark blue or purple its a male but if its light blue with a white line on it it's a female.

 

Oh I know that, I've had lots of parakeets since I was a child... I've had this couple for a few months already, they were both born in the same period, but while "Jonny" had a white nose that became blue, "Chris"'s nose what at first light purple but now it's of 3 different colours! Never seen in my whole life :lol:
