I love the new updates on the album but I was kinda expecting a tracklisting by now. When they say it'll be finalised today (4 days ago) can't they post it at the latest the day after?? :dozey::confused:

i think they've probably already got it hammered out already, unless jonny jumped chris in that meeting and it melted down into some huge physical brawl. but they've been working on it for longer than just this week, so i think we'll get an update soon. i'm choosing to believe that maybe we'll be getting some other info (album art, "violet hill") along with the tracklisting, so maybe it's taking so long because they're finishing that stuff up as well. or maybe prospekt just "forgot" that he promised to tell us :laugh1:

I'm hoping that's why theyre taking longer than expected as well, but I dunno, I can't see the Violet Hill thing happening right now. Prospekt has always seemed like a slow character to me "We should be finished in 4-5 weeks... then 6 weeks later: "We'll be finished by the end of the week." So basically it went from a maximum of 5 weeks to 7 weeks, and seeing as it took longer than expected last time, I wouldn't really be surprised if theyre still working on it now, even though they should have the album completely done now. Which of course annoys the hell out of me, because I hate it when they put a deadline on this stuff and leave us hanging when somethings been delayed. I wouldn't have so much of a problem if Prospekt actually made an effort in keeping us updated more often. The only thing he's come clean about is the album title. Thats it.

yeah, i hate that he's bad about predicting how long things will take. or maybe he's just bad about updating us on time. that frustrates me in people i know, and it frustrates me in prospekt.

and i know i'm overly optimistic about violet hill, but really i have to say that i don't care when we get it because i'm satisfied now that we know the release date (with a single before then, probably). of COURSE the sooner the better, but if i had to, i could wait until june 17. as long as they PROMISE to keep that date set in stone, that is! :P

Haha! He may be as frustrated as us fans are. So yeah, he might be saying this stuff on the official site to put the guys under pressure. I'm not sure whether its working either though.

Honestly, if thats not the release date, and they havn't corrected it out of shear laziness, I might have to find a reasonably unpopulated area to explode. The bad kind of explode that is. Like self destruct. If I was a band member and i saw a trusted source like Rolling Stone posting a false date, I would be fumbling to correct the mistake as soon as possible so as to not mislead fans. Lets hope it doesn't come to that though.

yeah, i don't actually believe the release date is going to change. i'm just still in a bit of shock that we ACTUALLY have it, so the pessimist in me thinks that now i'm so satisifed and happy, it'll get taken away just as easily.

It's been easter weekend. I think even Coldplay need a day or two off. ;)

but how much does the track listing mean until we hear the songs or a single. Its not going to help us know whtat hte album will be like until we hear something

Oh man, I know what you mean. The number of times I've imagined that "opening distorted riff" is insane. I just really hope they get the tarcklisting out of the way so we can get to the good stuff. I've got fingers crossed for tomorrow, but I have my doubts.

probably about 15 minutes to do a tracklisting.

About a month or so to do a tracklisting well and release it properly to manintain the hype and intrigue.

If they don't release the tracklisting this week I'll stand by the road with a sign held up in the air.
