The term Inertiatic most likely spawns from the word inertia or the force that keeps something moving in a straight line to continue moving in a straight line unless something interferes with it. Last I checked in the storybook chapter of Inertiatic ESP, the main character, Cerpin Taxt was trying to commit suicide by jumping off of a building. This could account for the Inertiatic. He continues moving down til he hits the ground.

Not that I'm aware of. I can care less which thread is posted in more. In fact I think that a moderator should merge the two threads. Assuming of course that that's an option in phpBB.

merging rarely happens here.

Tell me what the point of deleting such an informative post as mine was would be when it's just as easy to merge a thread? And my name is just a name. An obvious variant of the word element.

i know what it's spawned from. but according to the beloved dictionary.com it's not a word. there's a storybook about a guy trying to kill himself? no wonder american school systems suck.

No. The Mars Volta made a story book for De-Loused in the Comatorium. It's supposed to help people interpret the storyline of the concept album. Inertiatic is most likely the word Inertia + the suffix tic. Such as Romantic.

or it's

in = the english word "in"

er = the norwegian word "am/is/are"

ti = like to drink "tea"

atic = like an "attic" above your house

yes

Last I checked in the storybook chapter of Inertiatic ESP' date=' the main character, Cerpin Taxt was trying to commit suicide by jumping off of a building. This could account for the Inertiatic. He continues moving down til he hits the ground.[/quote']

From what I remember, 'De-Loused In The Comatorium' is about a guy who overdoses on some drug and slips into a coma. The album tells the story of the things he sees while he dreams, and when he awakes he commits suicide.

But this is just what I've heard. I've not actually read the book, so I can't be sure at all.

Well I know for a fact that Julio Venegas, the guy who Cerpin Taxt is based on, jumped off a bridge onto a busy intersection when he killed himself.

Love them. Their Toronto show is sold out :(

'De-loused..." is a concept album, yes. Apparently Julio shot up rat poison and jumped off a bridge (all of this happened while ATDI were still together), and some of the songs are fictitious dreams (is that redundant?) that Julio might have had during his coma.

And meh, I'm glad you made another thread - they deserve more than one :)

yeah i wanted to go! so sad that it's sold out.

my brother got tickets in the pre-sale i think, he's going for sure...and the concert's on my birthday to!

i listen to them today and i got impressed. like it.

Yah, I know someone who is going to the Toronto show, I don't know their music well enough to go, but I am sure it'll be a great show.

Just discovered Mars Volta

I think they are spiffy. What does everyone else think of them?

i really like "De-Loused in the comatorium" and "frances the mute", they're pretty unique band. favourite song: l'via l'viaquez

Cool band, quite unique. Frances the Mute is a good album.

I may upload Frances The Mute in a few days. I mean, the whole Frances The Mute album, including the title song, removed from the album because of its length.

It's a terriffic album, and for those who already know it but have not listened to Frances The Mute yet, I'd say it's a very great song (Sarcophagi chords eventually appear near the end of it)

I will as soon as I can, but Rpdshare won't work for me these days.
