March 25, 200818 yr I'm being serious here. I've been reading YouTube comments and posts on other forums left and right about how he's so arrogant and self-centered. Honestly, I don't see how someone can draw that conclusion. Sure some people might see the band as "Chris Martin and three other dudes" just as some people see U2 as "Bono and three other dudes", but that's only because they're lead singers! Lead singers always get the attention, regardless of what band they're in. So with that out of the way, can anyone direct me to evidence supporting the theory that Chris has this "I'm the greatest person in the world and you three other dudes would be nothing without me" mentality? And sorry if I come off as hostile or something. I'm just really curious.

March 25, 200818 yr why chris is picked on. ....because some people are mean and have nothing better to do except bash people they are jealous of. Or because some people don't get Chris' sometimes sarcastic jokes/statements (example: "we're the best f*cking band in the world") that could come off as being a tad snobbish, but really aren't. Or because of Chris' defensive reactions to the media hounds. edit: or because they believe what is said in that madtv parody that Tnspieler1012 posted above. it's sad really.... :(
March 25, 200818 yr Looking back on those madtv parodies they were a little more annoying and offensive than I first thought, but nonetheless, people use them to fuel anger at somebody they really want to hate for some reason.

March 25, 200818 yr I always thought people didn't like him for being 'geeky and wussy' never really heard him called pompous before. All frontmen of hugely successful bands are disliked by a huge amount of people. Whether it be their lifestyle choices, their appearance, the type of music they make (metalheads hate indie kids, indie kids hate pop etc) their political views (especially if they're very vocal about it) or the charity work they do and people are far more vocal when it comes to criticising people than they are when it comes to praising them. People go out of their way to go and slag someone else off, like the ateasers and Dani Filth crew that recently came to tell us their opinions.
March 25, 200818 yr tbh, I think a lot of it comes because of the association with his wife. A LOT of people, mainly Americans believe her to be very arrogant.
March 25, 200818 yr Hmm I never heard that about gwyneth, although I never partook in celebrity gossip. She is in the media constantly though. Last one I saw was about her cutting her hair. If they scrape an article together out of something like that, you know she's an unlucky member of the media and paparazzi watch list.
March 25, 200818 yr most of the gossip that takes part with his wife is not true! because i read about several concerts and shows, even writing some songs Chris says that they are mainly inspired by other bands to write songs,but they just associate them with his wife,i mean the media,and also a lot of people in the world who never heard of COLDPLAY before think that they're true,but realize afterwards that they aren't. So i think that sometimes he just makes some jokes to entertain people during concerts which some people takes as serious. nothing can be done in this case.Because everything lies in a person's understanding of a situation correctly and positively,not negatively.
