Darlene_Ihnfsa
Do you flip out if you get a bad mark? Do you put alot of time into your studies? Do you stress majorly before every test/quiz/exam Do you turn down social events because of school work? Do you receive tremendous amounts of pressure from parents etc. to get good marks? 1. depends, well i'm not happy if a get a bad mark but... 2. depends on the subject and what i have to study, if i organize well, i don't need as much time as other people do. (for instance for History of Arts). 3. i stress a bit, i think we all need to be a bit stressed when we will do an exam, if not we are too relaxed and think we know all when we don't knew even the half. 4. unfortunatelly yes  5. generally not... i never felt pressed at home for that. just feel bad for myself if i get an unexpected bad mark. Just felt pressed for my godfather...

Guest Grace
Do you flip out if you get a bad mark? no. as along as i have passed i'm happy! Do you put alot of time into your studies? no. i stop studying as soon as i got the feeling that i won't totally mess up the exam. Do you stress majorly before every test/quiz/exam? depends. i stress before maths. and.. well, yeah, the subjects i am not too good at, but i'm not the type of person who freaks out completely. Do you turn down social events because of school work? depends. if i REALLY (happens seldom, though) don't know ANYTHING about the stuff i am supposed to know i might call off any social event. Do you receive tremendous amounts of pressure from parents etc. to get good marks? well, yeah. but they're pretty okay with my marks. i always feel like that class mates put pressure on me because most of the are very clever. :laugh3: i'm no dumbass, really. in fact i was REALLY good at school til sixth grade or so. then i just stopped doing anything. i hardly ever do my homework. but i am lucky that teachers never find out. i start studying one day before the actual test. and ... that's not even studying. it's preparing a cheat sheet. i could have better grades, but i am way too lazy. i'll start working next year because from then on the grades will count for my a-levels. [PLUS, the german school system is pretty hard. i'm not saying it because i'm german. it is the truth.]
ApproximatelyInfinite
i'll answer these questions for what i was like in highschool, because that was a hell of a lot more stressful and harder than uni 1. no, but i'm really not happy about it 2. YES. 3. not majorly, but i study my ass off 4. yes, but everyone did. ergo, not many social events to turn down. 5. all the pressure was self-imposed. i wanted to get into a good college. my parents were like "you go to school?" uni's quite different though
BostonSportsTD
1. If it's a REALLY bad grade i get really upset and dont talk to anyone for a few hours but i get over it. 2. Not as much as I should... i take 3 APs and im capable of getting As in all of them but i get Cs in two of them. 3. I stress if i haven't studied... but i hate studying so i usually dont and then i stress. 4. NO! 5. yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. my sister goes to an ivy league college so she set the bar pretty hard. plus i used to get all As no matter what but starting sophomore year of high school i just stopped caring about my grades as much and now i get mostly Bs and some Cs and my mom hates it. seriously ive already had like 5 arguments with her today alone because im getting a D+ in AP latin for this term. I HATE IT.

devzors
Do you flip out if you get a bad mark?......No Do you put alot of time into your studies?.....Yes, it's the only way to truly learn Do you stress majorly before every test/quiz/exam?..... Not really, I study way ahead of time so that come time to test, I need not worry. Do you turn down social events because of school work?..... Yes, which is why people look at me funny Do you receive tremendous amounts of pressure from parents etc. to get good marks?.... they all want to see good marks becasue they don't have any way of judging your academic "performance" (usage of performance implies a game-like state), and care more about grades than learning, which is lame might I add Marks are important, but knowledge is about enriching you as a person. Make that a goal of being in school, and you will be rewarded with intellect and worldliness.
chuck kottke
Oh wow, now there's insight!^^ I graduated a long long time ago, and now I like to learn without structural limits, so to speak. But back in the day, I did sweat on occasion. Preparedness and confidence to do your best helped me the most. Strive to be your best, and improve - don't worry about competing with anyone else - all that does is make us like horses in a horse race - wonderful, if all of life were just a derby.. Oh, and having a good understanding of the role others must play, and the different perspectives we all have in life. There are many paths to go by in life. Einstein was correct when he said imagination is more powerful than knowledge. How true - we try to make objective, simple analytical tools to measure learned ability, and yet that can be very limiting. Subjective analysis often makes more sense, but then it is very hard to quantify. So, a mix of the two seems in order. And space to allow for a range of different approaches to learning seems wise; for having everyone thinking the same does not provide ample room for diverse perspectives, and can lead to a kind of "group think", which can lead to flawed approaches to problem solving. Diversity is the spice of life; uniformity provides the basic bread. A balance between the two leads to harmony.

freckles
Do you flip out if you get a bad mark? Not really, but I'm not happy about it. I usually study the thing again and I'm tested again afterwards, to get a better mark. Do you put alot of time into your studies? Well, it depends on school subjects. I love to study the subjects I'm interested in, but the other subjects are not very good. Do you stress majorly before every test/quiz/exam? I used to stress a lot, but now, it's better. I'm ok and try to stay calm. Do you turn down social events because of school work? It depends.. When there are many things to do, and the social event's not important, I turn it down. Do you receive tremendous amounts of pressure from parents etc. to get good marks? Not really, my parents are doing good with my marks and they know I try hard. My grandmother gives me some money in the end of the school year - but just for the best marks. :D
zeoir
Do you flip out if you get a bad mark? - no, not really. The reason for that bad mark is after all ME. So it's all my fault and that's it Do you put alot of time into your studies? - No. I rarely do my "every day homework" but i still get ok grades..usually. Do you stress majorly before every test/quiz/exam - Depends. If i haven't studied enough i do stress but not majorly Do you turn down social events because of school work? - Sometimes. But I always do all my important school work in time Do you receive tremendous amounts of pressure from parents etc. to get good marks? - Not at ALL. Sometimes i wonder if they even care how my studies are going ha.
Ms Magpie
Do you flip out if you get a bad mark? Not really, but I'm disappointed. Do you put alot of time into your studies? Not much, but I usually do everything I need before an exam. Do you stress majorly before every test/quiz/exam? Not anymore, but I still am pretty stressed sometimes. Do you turn down social events because of school work? Sometimes. Do you receive tremendous amounts of pressure from parents etc. to get good marks? No, I receive an amount of pression from myself. Also from parents, but it's mostly me who ... and then it's a major disappointment. :(
