i categorized all my cards by number as well...and yes, i still do own them.

 

after watching yours, i really want to make a video, but alas, i have no video camera. and it would be highly awkward to borrow my roommate's: "hey, can i borrow your camera so i can go around our boring room and talk about all the things in it to show my friends on the internet that i've never actually met in the physical world?" so i'm going to od it in pictures in a minute. but when i get home i'm going to give a little tour as well, just for fun.

this is the main part of my half of the room. i'm afraid that the bed isn't too tidy because i got out of it only a few hours before, and that the walls are rather busy with all sorts of things on them, but at least it's relatively organized. if you think this is bad, you should see my walls at home.

 

 

 

 

 

a close-up of the things on my wall above my bed. mostly the collage is comprised of things from my favorite TV shows (scrubs, house, the american take on the office), my two favorite recent movies (atonement and the kite runner), and lots of little random things. there are three radiohead postcards all the way to the right that my roommate gave me when i was having a bad day. the "W" thing is the varsity letter my dad won for being MVP of his ice hockey team when he was in high school, and i went to the same school, so it's cool and i like it. and to the right of the "W" is a picture of tina fey in her office, and i kind of really want to be tina fey :lol:.

 

 

 

 

 

when you're sitting on my bed, this is the wall that you see. john lennon and coldplay are self-explanatory, i think, as is the shaun of the dead poster :P. and yes, that is a quasi-shrine to barack obama. mainly it's just a rally poster, a barack obama calendar my mom sent me as a joke, and some ads i get in the mail. hmm, my lampshade is a bit crooked, though.

 

under the bed. mainly eating supplies in that blue tub and quite a bot of junkfood. you can see my collection of pringles and my uh-oh oreos. the rest of my food is in that long clear bin that the oreos are on. then there's a pink bin of all my shoes (too many), a trunk filled with odds and ends, a shitload of water, and what's left of my easter basket that i haven't devoured.

 

 

 

 

 

over my bed. X&Y poster (which really likes to fall off the wall and onto my sleeping head), and the cover of rolling stone with thom yorke on. and a picture of my graduating class from high school under thom.

 

my nightstand with my ihome on it. my cell phone's on top of the ihome, if you're wondering what that black thing is. first shelf's got all the normal stuff: tissues, flashlight, etc. the second shelf is a stack of all the music and film magazine's i've bought since january and the book i'm currently reading. my school bag is on the floor next to the nightstand. note the barack obama pins :dozey:.

TV and DVD on the top, along with a photo of me and my best friends on graduation and a stack of DVDs which i've recently watched/been to lazy to put away: coldplay live 2003, the kite runner, atonement, hot fuzz, the office. and the thing of ben & jerry's is NOT full: it's a special edition flavor having to do with stephen colbert, and my brother loves stephen colbert, so i'm saving it for him.

 

the top shelf is all my fun stuff, namely my favorite books. all the way to the left is my senior yearbook from highschool, along with a couple little books written about my old school. then there's a bunch of my favorite books, which i'm not going to name since there are too many, along with some i bought since i've been here to read once i get time. i read a lot of movies, as you can probably tell. there's also a textbook, called the music and art of radiohead, which i found in the bookstore here and had to buy because it's an actual TEXTBOOK about radiohead. the CDs to the right are the three coldplay albums, and all the CD's my mom's sent me since i've been here, which are mainly rock new releases, like do you like rock music? and accelerate, and film soundtracks, like across the universe and hot fuzz.

 

my schoolbooks. not so fun. all the way to the left is a big maroon binder of my photos. all the way to the right is a CD wallet filled to the brim with my DVDs, and the black thing is the base to my laptop, which has the CD drive. and my cell phone charger. fascinating, isn't it?

 

 

 

 

 

the fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. there's an andy warhol painting and a house M.D. poster on the wall. and yes, another obama sticker on the fridge. we're kind of fanatics.

 

closets. my side is on the right. i have too many clothes, so it looks pretty messy. mainly, lots of girly things and cleaning supplies :rolleyes:

and i'm kind of too short to reach the top, so there's a stepladder in front of my half. i don't mind too much because it doubles as a drying rack, but it's still annoying to be short.

 

 

 

 

 

my desk, locker, and various posters. the two really crazy things above the desk are collages of photos of my friends spanning about five years. i spent a long time on those. also a hot fuzz poster (can you tell i'm in love with that movie?). the stuff on the side of the locker is all the most recent mail i've gotten at college and some things written in arabic, which i like to do when i'm bored.

 

my desk, which i never use except to dump stuff on. i tidied it up to take a picture of it. mainly there's a picture of my graduating class, a model of big ben made out of wire, a lamp, a tub of gum, post-its, the crappiest printer in the world, a seldom-used mouse and mousepad, and that big envelope in the middle is my taxes that i really need to send off. on the printer is a photo of me and my family, which i find pretty funny because its probably the only picture that exists of all of us, and the fact that they all have red hair and mine is black. i look like the adopted kid, but then again, i always do. people tend to look at it and ask where the hell i come from. good question.

Wow that must have taken ages to explain! I did actually read it all, and it wasn't boring... its interesting to explain an otherwise nonsensical mess of things (I'm talking about what my room is like... yours is far from messy ;) ) Your half room is so cool though! Loving all the posters and stuff (including the Obama ones, haha) and its fun picking out all the random stuff, like the Ben & Jerry's tub and Coldplay mug :nice: Not to mention that endless supply of pringles under the bed of course :laugh3:

aww, i don't find my room that interesting! there's just so much stuff everywhere. i can never bear to get rid of anything.

 

heh, it didn't take that long to explain or do. i tend to write pretty fast, and for some reason i find it interesting to think of how people who aren't used to all of it would see everything. likewise i like seeing where other people live.

 

and thanks about the picture, semy. i found it geeky, but not stupid enough to not post, i guess. and yes, that's an obama pin :blush:. i'm a walking billboard for barack obama most of the time, but then again, so are lots of people. i didn't take a picture of the outside of our door...we're kind of obsessed. but because it's such an important thing, i don't mind being overly vocal about it.

ok finally i got my pics.. them are a bit old, as them were taken with my mobile when i just got to the student hall the last september (so is not decorated or anything). And well although is not really my home, well i'm here since more than 6 months now so... i could consider it a bit like my home now. (i'll miss this place :cry:)
