In a official pressmailing, EMI Holland announced the X&Y follow up Viva La Vida and Death and All His Friends will be release on June 13 (Friday). Worldwide release: 16/17 june

translation:

Three years later after the release of the record X&Y the new coldplay record will be released on Friday june 13, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. The band worked together in London Barcelona and New York with producers Brian Eno en Markus Dravs to work on the long awaited fourth record.

In July 2005 Coldplay visited The Netherlands for the last time to perform at the sold out Geldredome arena in Arnhem.

"the album was fuelled by a desire to move from black and white into colour", according lead-singer of Coldplay, Chris martin. "or, if you like, we decided to let our garden grow a little more unkempt. The bloodhound was let off its leash."

The tracklisting of viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends is already published:

i hope it'll be released on the 13th in germany, too cause amazon.de says so (i know it's not that reliable though).

Can you give the link to actual article?

In any case, I hope its true. Plus, I havn't heard those quotes from Chris Martin before. Especially the 'bloodhound' comment.

oohers! well if this is 100% true, then i guess there's almost a guaranteed leak of VLV the friday before ().

this is why i wonder why popular bands (all bands, not just coldplay) don't just release the album worldwide on the same day. it saves the headaches and a bit of money over the leaks and filesharing that's inevitable. it just all seems kind of illogical to me from a planning and logistical point of view.

this is 100% true, received this from the EMI Pressmailing. The image posted is stored at emimusic.nl... so I think it's true

i already wonder how to manage to buy that cd.

i got a lesson off from 8.45 am til 9.45 am on fridays.

i'll either run to the mall from school or i'll let my dad come to school to pick me up and drive me to the mall. :laugh3:

i know that the shops open at 9 am. so that'd be okay.

so when is the official US release of the CD?

I don't know the official date but according to amazon.com it will be released on June 17

im not buying all these things... I mean, until prospekt writes something new like "official album name is viva la vida or death and all his friends" to begin with, cause the latest official news from them, titled the album simple "viva la vida", which I actually prefer.

So apparently we'll be the last people in the world to hear it

the title has already been confirmed, hasn't it?

and the release date is official, too.

personally, i don't doubt anything.

Holy shit, I'm very happy to be Dutch. :D

Me too

In that article there is a "," between VLV and ODAAHF. A small detail, but still.

I like it better without :P
