Not sure where to post this or if someone has posted it already, or even if it will excite anyone other than myself, but has anyone noticed that on Play, the Viva la Vida is listed as 'gatefold digipak'? I didn't know what this was but faithful wikipedia told me http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digipack and a foldy out 'book style' thingy makes me hopeful it comes with an extra CD or something. Even if it doesn't, haven't all the others been normal jewel cased CDs? It's a bit different and makes me excited for reasons I don't even know.

 

I'm sorry if this post is pointless but I want to believe in an extra CD or special edition-ness and in my sleep deprived state I, for a second, thought it was a good idea to post this theory :/

Yeah, that's shown up on various online retailer sites, I wouldn't be surprised if they want to sell the CD's in environmentally friendly and/or recyclable cases. Should be a nice change.

I thought that about the recycling thing, but then then my brain went "OMG special content" and wouldn't let go of the idea!

I figured the same...environmental reasons. More and more bands and labels are switching. But a second CD would be cool. I won't get my hopes up, but it's a very nice though.:)

yeah, i'm not getting my hopes up for a double CD, but the special packaging does make me wonder. however, i think it's got to do with them being environmentally conscious, which i also love, so it's a win either way :smiley:

 

though a few cells of my brain wonder if the super exciting news on monday has anything to do with this...

news on XFM on monday (though i don't think there's an announced time); VH on BBC6 at midday GMT on tuesday, then on XFM sometime after midday, so once it's played on BBC6 i'm going straight over to XFM to hear it again while simultaneously stalking the threads here for the first link to download it!

I think the BBC are just trying to make sure ALL their listeners know how great coldplay are :P

Well I read that the show starts at 10AM, so lets hope they don't play it that early for our fellow americans... but I will be tuning in at 10am sharp for sure. But we DO know that on XFM it will be played shortly after midday, in case you miss it the first time around on BBC6. And of course there's that big news on XFM the day before, but the time they announce it that hasn't been clarified. Which NOW means that I wont have a life on Monday OR Tuesday. Hah.

Oh, isn't Radio One doing the album history and stuff too? God this is so confusing.

4?! it's playing at 7 our time! you don't have to get up THAT early, and i'm not as obsessive about hearing the news...as long as we know what it is, and i know we will.
