My friend is into pretty heavy stuff too, Korn, Green Day, and the like. She's also very stubborn and hardheaded, there's no hope of changing her mind :P

One of my friends I'm going to a show with likes Coldplay, the other knows who they are but I don't know if she has an opinion of them one way or another. But she's willing to go, so I take that as a good sign, and I'm hoping she'll have as much fun as I and the other friend going will and get converted as a result.

Same here. Ever since the concert last december, I've bought all cd's and pretty much listened them non stop. All day long, in the car (realy loud and singing along), at home. The only place I listen other stuff is at work on the radio, but then I jump up and turn up the volume when I hear the first tones of a Coldplay-song.

And yes *emberassed*, I also sing in the shower...

Not sure if you were talking to one or both of us with that. But if you were talking to me, oh, god, I'm a HUGE fan of them. Seen them in concert (the new lineup, but still...) and everything. I'm pretty much in love with all things Finn-related. Agreed on "Fall At Your Feet". That was the highlight of the show I saw-damn near melted into a puddle during that song.

To tie it back to Coldplay, though, I will say this: I'm listening to some of the songs from X&Y now, and am I the only one who hears perhaps a slight Finn influence in some of them? Like in the chorus to "What If" or during the song "X&Y" or something? If I ever find out the band likes the Finns/Crowded House/etc., that will make me love them all the more.

 

(And if Neil Finn and Chris Martin/Coldplay ever did something together, then, my friend, you would see/hear THE epic freakout to end all epic freakouts)
