I'm not impressed with the new singles!! Help!!!

Viva la vida is worst song they have created,it's rubish, it's like very definite, very definition of pop song without creativity, and just because of that you all love that song because it's too easy to like that easy song on first listening, but coldplay always had something mysterious, something you got to search!

Um... have you heard Yellow? Shiver? Any song off of X&Y? Those are simple pop songs to me. I know you have an opinion and I'm not trying to change it, but I don't see how coating a song in cheesy string sounds makes a song more mysterious. Viva La Vida is different in that sense, but when it comes to the melodies, harmonies, instrumentation, I think VLV is much more creative and musically stronger than any song off of X&Y. I love what they're doing.

And those of you that are saying things like "It's okay, there's still hope" as if you're trying to convince yourself it's not going to be the end of the world if you don't force yourself to love all the new singles... it's not the end of the world. If you don't like it, okay, don't have a meltdown, find someone to give you a hug, listen to their old songs and find some new good music. There's an overwhelming amount of it out there if you're willing to look a bit.;)

I don't know what seems to be missing but I am really not impressed by the two new singles. They sound so unlike Coldplay and more like a pop or punk band. And also, when I heard the title of the new album, I knew that it would be very different from the old one, X&Y, which sound quite formal, unlike this. So, actually I am not that disappointed as compared to a lot of you guys.

Well put. I've gotten quite tired of these threads. From here on out, I don't care what anybody thinks about the album, and I reject the notion that anyone needs "help!".

every coldplay song gives me ORGASMS

The album's not out yet so just calm down.

There may be songs on there you may like.

Personally, I love listeneing to Violet Hill and Viva La Vida.

It took me a long time to get used to VH, but now I absolutely adore it!

All the others from the album I was impressed with straight away, but it took me a few listens again to love LiT. A Spell on the other hand was best listened to thrice and then never again imho, but no matter. Lost? is absolutely incredible and the stand out with VH for me - classic Coldplay :)

Although it has many of the hallmarks of 'classic' Coldplay also, I'm just not getting VLV however much I listen to it. I was chatting with another member last night on here about Spies, and how I didn't get that one either for a really long time, but I now love it (have done for years now:)). But this I think is different - Spies is quite a subtle, many-layered song, but VLV strikes me as being something that should grab you immediately and, well, I could see that but after multiple listens I still don't like it very much.

It's ironic because along with Lost? it's the most predictable type of song that the boys could deliver (and predictable here doesn't mean anything negative - Lost? sends shivers up and down my spine like so many of their numbers in the past have). I was quite worried about the new stuff, but totally love the new approach.

Just not getting LVL :(
