Kylie Minogue recorded a track for the new Coldplay album

A Kylie Unlikely Duet For Coldplay

It's an unlikely collaboration, but Chris Martin has revealed that Kylie Minogue recorded a track for the new Colplay album.

Speaking exclusively to Q, Chris told how the band were in awe of Kylie when she joined them in the studio as a guest vocalist. But after a change of plan, the band decided not to use her contribution to the band's fourth album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends.

In an interview for the July edition of Q (which is out on June 1), Chris said he decided to rethink his approach to the song on which the two Parlophone acts teamed up.

“Kylie is awesome,” said Chris. “She’s like Girls Aloud rolled into one. And then I took the song apart. Like a Corby trouser press. It’s now one of those half-finished models in a garage.”

When Kylie was in the studio with them, the rest of the band were “like that”, he said, feigning a swoon.

Bassist GUY BERRYMAN added that the album, due out on June 12, is the band’s most political yet.

He said: “There’s this slightly anti- authoritarian viewpoint that’s crept into some of the lyrics.

It’s the pay-off between being surrounded by governments on one side, but also we’re human beings with emotions and we’re all going to die...and the stupidity of what we have to put up with.”

is this really true..?

Although I really like Kylie Minogue, I'm really not enthusiastic about that idea..

yeah I believe it is..

well then, you gotta trust the guys if they do think inviting her to record a song was a good idea..

Hmm interesting. I'm kind of glad it didn't make it onto the album actually, whatever it was. I would rather just hear Coldplay on a Coldplay record, although I don't mind them collaborating with orchestras and 'geniuses' like Eno.

i wanna hear the song, jsut not on the album. i'm glad it didn't make the cut. unless you are collaborating with a beatle, oasis, stones, radiohead, u2, or some other classic band this type of thing should be left off the album i think

 Haha.

Yea, I am glad her song was not included because then the album might be considered "pop" or mainstream, and then you'll get all these weirdos interested in the band. Sounds like she kinda invited HERSELF to the studio, lol.

I dont think she invited herself.. I can see them begging for her to do it. She's like a goddess in their eyes

any way i used to like its in your eyes by kylie.

but any way if she joined them i think then all the people who criticize coldplay will then come and bang us,

and then we all fans will have no enough words to give them a reasonable explanation.

haha, yeahhh, i'm not a huge collaboration person, unless it's paul mccartney or bono. or if coldplay ever want to join up with the strokes...:P

and chris seems to mention his love for kylie quite often. um, he has GWYNETH!! i think she's about 12X prettier :laugh1:

I'm not a big collaboration fan either, glad it didn't end up on the album.
