in our defence...

have you heard it then? We love Coldplay but we can't just say something that's ok is amazing. cos that's lieing. or lying. i can't remember which of those means not telling the truth, but that's the one i meant.

3/5 is 6/10. that's fair i reckon.

you'd have to ask johnny k, mate. he wrote it.

it's a long way from 'shiver', that's for certain.

Fair enough, not everyone can like it.

The only thing I'd say about that review is you're bemoaning the fact that it's NOT like everything else they've done...which seems a poor premise to base a review.

What a crap review!

?

It's a crap review because it doesn't like the album? The reviewer might be entirely correct in his criticism. We've no idea, we haven't heard the album. But are you only going to listen to the reviews which praise the album and deride the others as 'crap'?

It's only one dude's opinion anyway. I think the review is written in a bit too much in an NME style for my liking, but that's the style its target audience enjoys so fair enough. As for the opinion, as much as I love Coldplay, I couldn't deride it as 'crap' until I'd heard it then, and even then you'd have to remember opinion is subjective.

Well to be fair, we're just assuming the record will be great due to all the hype surrounding it and our reaction to previous albums. For all you know it could be a major disappointment.

I think this album will be a little less mainstream and you need some more listens before you'll start to really like it.

Not really, all the guy is talking about is FOOD and how Chris sounds like GOD and not talking about the songs until he reviews them and where all like wtf??? He derives himself from the subject at hand and drivels on about nonsense!!

we're not getting very good reviews these days!!!

I'm waiting for the Rolling Stone review / since they gave X & Y 3 stars out of 5

I'm going to wait to listen to the album, and then I will come back with my own review!

I wouldn't believe this review at all.....notice that the critic only reviews songs that have been released or leaked. Where's the comments on 42 or any of the other songs for that matter? He mentions Strawberry Swing once, but that's about it. I'm not sure how credible this source is.

erm... i was there...

well, it's a credible source for definite. otherwise i wouldn't have posted it on here for you guys.

also I WAS THERE!

and as for the comments about my blog, it was a blog, not a review.

also in response to the negative reception to the review of this album which you haven't heard, here's a blog from the guy who wrote it:

http://www.the-fly.co.uk/words/blogs/1876/coldplay's-new-album

this is all good to talk about this stuff though. i mean, you guys will love the new coldplay record no matter what, right?

cheers
