I don't think Lost! had a backing track at all. And in 42 you can hear Chris' guitar, but it's really low and I had to strain to hear it. But overall it was a great performance.

I never really cared if they used backing tracks, there are so many instruments in their music. No one can expect them to play them all at once.

42 sounded like it had a backing track for sure because during the breakdown Jonny was playing the first part of the guitar and then he was playing the second part and yet the first part was still going, but 42 almost has to have a backing track.

As you all saw, Lost was cut off at the end. I was actually in the audience, so what you missed was that on the last three chords, chris hit the wrong notes. It didn't sound terrible, but it was a little off and Chris said, "oh, shit, i messed that up, sorry everybody". I wasn't surprised it was cut off when I watched it later that night.

well, Chris supposedly takes up the 1st riff on the acoustic guitar when jonny switches to the bass riff. But it's not that convincing, I don't think Chris hits any pedals at that transition.

Not that it's a big deal... but there's an organ playing the entire time... and no one is at the keys. Johnny could be playing it through his guitar, but he's also playing his riff every so often. Also, every time the chorus comes along we get an even bigger BURST of synth.

The only time the song sounds like it's legitimately being played is during the bridge (Johnny's solo).

But like I said, I love the new songs and Coldplay... I just think if people who are on the edge of liking them notice this stuff they might get turned off. They already get enough boy band comparisons.

EDIT: I just re-watched it again and Johnny is at the keyboard at the beginning! So he's a master of the loop. I'm ok with looping. That still doesn't explain all the sounds in the song... but it makes me feel a bit better. I still think 42 is mostly prerecorded though.

Can you tell me why? Older shows are available on the Daily Show website. Why did Coldplay get deleted?

Almost everything can be found in the multimedia section. I guess this is what you are looking for.

I so love you, Tash. Thanks a bunch! I'm new to the site, so I'm still finding my way around.
