I know this isn't directly at the organisers but i just want to say this: I have just looked on eBay and tickets for the same block as me at the O2 Arena are on 'buy it now' prices of £350-£400 for 2 tickets. What really upsets me is that because of my seats i must of been standing amongst these people this morning and saw them. You just knew they were all touts especially when security announced you needed photo ID there were a few panics. I know it must be hard for very rich people not to want front block seats but if they are boycotted these people cannot sell these tickets on for such a large profit. I hate the way some of the people i was standing around live in the surrounding area and probably do this for all the big events as they live near an arena. Well at least a standing area stops those people getting the VERY best places. Even if you buy a standing ticket from a tout, you still have to earn your place.;)
May 30, 200818 yr FUDGE! I completely agree. I was really disappointed and angry when i realised it was seating only. I can't see a reason for it. It's not like there's a likelihood of mosh-pit-death at a coldplay gig for christ sake! I like the fact that I can show I'm a true fan by showing up and queuing to earn my space at the front. It annoys me that some asshole will be given front row who's probably not even that much of a fan....

Why on EARTH would you ever want to sit down at a gig, really? I'll be on my feet whatever happens. Does anybody know who would be in charge of this fucking decision? It's absolutely ludicrous. And if I get sat next to some 50-year-olds who say "what's this?" when Shiver or GPASUYF come on I will RAGE.
May 30, 200818 yr I feel sorry for you guys! As a Brit living in Las Vegas, I fully support your aims. I have only sat down twice for a gig-out of about 250+ gigs. Once was for a Prodigy gig when I had a twisted ankle-so it was a necessity. The other was for Coldplay here a few years back. I will be sitting down again in July-though I have front row seats, I had to bust a gut to get front row seats too. You should all stand on your seats and right at the end you should all fall off your seats and injure yourselves and then get on the phone to claims direct and sue!!

May 31, 200818 yr look i've been following english football for many years and i know for a fact that you lot know how to riot and you seem to specialise in throwing furniture in particular chairs. so i say study up on the old football riot videos take some notes, ask your old man how he used to do it. then rock up to the gig and make sure there isnt a single effing seat left on the floor by the time the boys hit the stage. because i know for a fact that if this happened in sydney there would be trouble! i wish you luck

There's one thing us Australians can't stand, and it's being fucked around with like this. If it does continue for the rest of the tour, it'll be probable that the Aussies will stand (unless of course some old farts rock up and try and scoff at us, but whatevs) You guys should deffs stand up for yourselves. A bit harsh and uncalled for in my opinion. not at all. i may not like the style of football you guys play but not many countries create the same atmosphere that english fans do. but lets not get sidetracked. i told a few hardcore coldplays fans/mates about this whole seating fiasco and they all gasped in shock!! but one of them who dosnt exactly like them said that he wasnt surprised at all, they are very much a soft pop rock band with laid back relaxing music maybe that is the sort of atmosphere the band wants at their shows as opposed to a crazy heavy rock like feel.
June 1, 200818 yr Author Also, I've stated before that as getting tickets is a "lottery" anyway, why not make ALL ticket sales for major tours an official lottery? That way it would at least make it difficult for the touts to get hold of them. Box office queues (i.e. at venues of agencies themselves) are obviously unfair as the touts know they can guarantee getting their full allocation by getting there early enough.
June 1, 200818 yr I can't really explain this in detail, but even someone I know who works for Capitol in the US is pretty shocked and offended...they obviously can get tickets, but they're one of the few ppl at the label that CARES about the fans, so this saddens them...and me...

(off-topic, I know) I shouldn't post this, lest I really offend the masses, but when you put together an ambitious tour like this it's going to cost more...and if you want to preach about being carbon-neutral, you should consider that when planing your tour as well. Suffice to say that, as usual, the tour will leave a 'footprint'. But again, I'm O.T., so I'll shut up now...

Like I've said elsewhere, considering the size of the tour, they're trying to keep the prices low, and I'm impressed by that, but I think there's a need to keep overhead a little lower if you want to keep prices lower.
