Im nervous about Coldplay and being a CP fan right now...

Featured Replies

Im nervous because i love how theyre going to be performing VLV but covering the Pussycat dolls is nerv racking. I dont need to be laughed at for being a cp fan then i already am. Is it going to be okay? dont sing that girlfriend song because your not a girl chris.

Come on, don't be afraid. It's just a show. Who knows? Maybe Coldplay would like to do something different;)

I think whatever they cover, it'll be amazing. I get the feeling they try not to take themselves too seriously, which not enough people do.

Im sure what ever they are doing is with a sense of humor. It should be thought of in that way. Even CP are allowed to have fun now and then and not be taken so seriously all the time. Watch with a light heart and when they perform their own song we can go back to taking them seriously. Its not like they are performing that way for their album or live stage show. It will all be ok.

They also performed Can't Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue before (of course her music is far better than PCD). But CP never really went into that direction. So dude, don't worry.

I hate to be the meanie once again, but you are too uptight. You care way too much about what other people think. And that is lame.

Yup, bit of a major overreaction going on here, methinks!!

It's not always easy to not care about what people say about you.

Agreed.

to the original poster, you seem hung up on wanting everybody to think you're cool for listening to coldplay. well that's just not going to happen, unfortunately, no matter where you go there will be people who don't like coldplay.

Maybe, but caring what people say about you because of your music taste is particularly daft.:dozey:

Agreed.

And what's more, wherever you go there will be people who don't like you, regardless of who you are!!;)

There's nobody in the world who's liked by everyone!!;)

Are you a paranoid android??

Well in that case you must be paranoid!!:P

The first time I saw Coldplay live Chris and Jonny did a bit of "Would I Lie To You?" a cheesy (but totally fabulous!) pop track from the early 90's.

Another time when I saw them, Chris threw in a bit of Nelly's "Hot In Herre". I think he just likes to have fun with music. The report said rehearsals were dragging on and on, so he probably just threw in a bit of "Don't Cha" for fun.

I'm really amazed at people freaking out about it. So what if they do it at the MTV Awards?

Actually word is that they're performing violet hill. In any case, the strings and bridges will be transposed to guitar for live performances. It's not gonna be one big back track.

yeah the official news is violet hill

but that doesn't explain the multiple keyboards, there's just the one piano in violet.

They'll probably change up the song a little live, I mean that's better in my opinion. I hope they do, I hate when bands play songs note for note live. I like to see them mix things up a bit.

And as for the actually topic of this thread, loosen up, are you that uptight?

I think its funny that Chris is comfortable enough to sing that song. And its not like hes gonna sing it at the show, so only Coldplay fans know he did it at all.;)

Based on the article, it sounds like Chris was just playing around during rehearsals because the Pussycat Dolls were rehearsing right before them, I didn't get the impression that they would be performing that on the live show.

No one mad fun of me for liking the Gorillaz when they did a duet with Madonna at the GRAMMYs :P

But if they do, they should change the words to "Doncha think the Pussycats are cheesy......................."
