I think it was the Stereogum review (which was surprisingly a positive one) that I first saw point out the "Rising Sun" thing and they were right on.

 

But in terms of In Rainbows, the closest I can hear "Cemetries" sounding like is maybe "15 Step" for the main chunk (handcaps and all that) or "Bodysnatchers" (for the 2-minute mark onwards in COL).

I was just checking here, because if this post hadn't been here, I would have posted it! Though about the second time I listened to the album "hey that melody sounds familiuar..." and it struck me that it sounds like "House of the rising sun" it's just one melodyline, which repeats a couple of times through the song, but still!

Yea it does a little bit. I thought that the first time after listening to it. Sounds kinda like Muse's version.

OMGGG I completely agree. It sounded so familiar, not because i was listening to the album today, but because it sounds strangly similiar to house of the rising sun. sweet observation.

You know, maybe i'm crazy but this song also reminds me a bit of Simon and Garfunkel - Scarborough Fair... The soft vocals perhaps and the rythm as well.
