i was reading something yesterday about how pool is one of the most popular ways of socialising in ireland and how we have some of the greatest undiscovered players :lol: :lol: :o

my dad is planning on buying a pool table, I just don't know when....

I used to be pretty good at pool... but then I didn't play it for a long time. And a couple of months I played a game and sucked ass! :lol:

Playing pool with girls for me is fun, as normally they are shite as well and so we have a good game...

 

 

I prefer just sitting at the bar and drinking.. talking about football girls, news, people and different types of beers. !

my dad is an excellent snooker player. he got me into playing that although my skills do fall far from the tree lol.

 

darts are so much fun. love playing the game ^ with people who aren't extra intense into winning but just having fun, otherwise it gets awkward :shifty:

Humm, ironically I can play a fairly decent game of pool after a few drinks. Lucky for me then that pool is most often played in locations where there are copious amounts of alcohol! :laugh4:

I prefer playing games like pool, basketball, football.... pretty much every sport with people who are equally as sucky as I am

my effort in the first round of darts will determine whether i play seriously or just...um, whatever-like. both usually end with a bunch of flukes hitting the bulls eye :D lol

 

there are a couple differences between the 2. snooker is a little more formal, the table is larger in every way, and the balls aren't numbered or anything so both players have a fair go at every ball. a snooker is when one player can't sock any balls in, so to prevent the opponent from any chance, they arrange the balls so that no shot is possible to make. requires a lot of spin, a lot of thinking ahead to the next play, kinda like chess but with cues i suppose lol. it's really quite intense to watch! /end brief overview lol

I quite like pool, but I don't really like pubs.;)

Im pretty good at pool, won a few competitions and I havent entered many.

Which type of Pool?

Uh. The one with them balls, on the table, and you hit that there white one, onto them there other ones, and into the holes, theres like, 6 or 8 of em or sumfink

That narrows it down to the 2 main types:

American style when there is 9 coloured balls on the table and you have to pot them in order and the winner is whoever pots the number 9 ball.

or Proper style where you have 15 balls, 7 of which are one style, 7 are in another style (red/yellow, coloured/stripped) and the black ball.
