How do you guys think i should go about convincing my parents that a 16 yr old wont get mugged when he's by himself at 5am in nyc? (i really want to go to see coldplay but not a single person i know wants to get up so early) im coming in from central jersey (like 45 min away by train)

 

btw...i'm still hoping in the off chance i might win vip tickets through time out ny's website

What does a 16 year old have to steal? That area is pretty busy early in the morning so it's not like you are going to some seedy dark part of town. And by 5am the place will most likely be crawling with teenagers and police.

tell them that me, a 15 year old is allowed to go so you should too

God....my parents are annoyingly paranoid and overprotective...i'll persuade them by friday, somehow (unless i sneak out of my house and go-which is probably a very, very bad idea)

Around that area...it really isn't dangerous. Very touristy. As long as you are in that area (NBC studios) I don't see why it should be bad. There will probably be people setting up and stuff...Plus NY is the city that never sleeps...remember? :)

That is going to be such an awesome sign! I am going to be giving the boys a sneak peek at the signs we've prepared for the Philadelphia concert. JBella, if you want me to bring some signs for you as well, I'd be more than delighted. Maybe we could even tell the boys to be prepared for a spectacle down at the Wachovia Center yet again (a la 2006's Coldplay Sign Gang campaign)!
