this was a great article! thanks for posting! :D

but...

"...have already mapped out their career endgame"? :stunned:

if that's true, i think my heart just broke.

however, i don't think that they mean that the career endgame is LP5 that's supposedly coming out next year. personally, i get the impression that they're thinking beyond that, at least one more LP, but...the fact that they have their career mapped out makes me think it's not that far off :bigcry:

of course, it could just be one of their stupid things again, but phil said it, not chris...

That's what I thought Chelsea and it's not the first time it's been said. Chris has said a few times recently that Coldplay are going to finish the decade and that's it :(

I hope they change their mind, I mean they're still young, what else are they gonna do?

he's really said "that's it" after this decade? all the quote's i've read regarding that didn't seem that conclusive to me. to me, it seemed like he said that they were going to finish off the decade with another album and then do something even MORE different. i'll have to relisten to some of the interviews that he said that in, but i honestly can't remember ever reading or hearing that they were going to give it up entirely after 5 albums. i just thought it might be an extra-long wait after LP5.

I don't think "that's it" was a quote but I remember him saying something that gave me the impression that they were going to call it a day. I can't remember where though, there's been so many interviews. :\

haha, me too. i get confused with all the different sources of information :P

if i have time later, i'll do a relisten to an interview or two. hope you don't take this the wrong way, but for all of our sakes, i hope you're wrong :D

I hope I'm wrong too! I've probably taken what he's said the wrong way. :D

Don't believe it Chelsea and Mich! These boys are just having post album stress. I don't believe this endgame talk for a second.

you're right, mel. i think we should stop worrying before it's time. they're notorious for saying things like this anyway, but you've got to admit that when they're talking about calling it quits for good...it's worrying. what the hell would i do with all my time?! :P

As Mel pointed out to me before, on Jo Whiley's show on the 12th, during the question Jamie asked Will said they'd never split. :idea2:

those pictures are beautiful! :stunned:

and the last paragraph, omg.. :laugh3:

*breathes HUMUNGO sigh of relief*

thank you melanie!!

now, to go distract myself from thinking about the today show passes...:\

I think they love to talk out of both sides of their mouth and contradict themselves....they all cancel each other out...so let's pretend like they didn't say ANYTHING!

*skips over to the pic threads to look at the pretty (AND QUIET!) faces:D*

previously after X&Y too Chris said that's its the end in 2006!

that we're fed up.

but they came along with a new one again!

i have the hopes , but i don't see any point in people stretching the things whatever Chris say.

I think they'll definitely keep going, like some others said they're just probably stressed and overwhelmed with having a new album out and all the promo and nervousness that comes with it.

I'd love for CP to be around like U2, and still make great music and be successful decades later.

very good interview! I didn't knew Chris was such a fan of text messages / I have read several interviews where they tell he use them!

cheers

I have wondered how they sit through interview after interview answering the same questions over and over. Jonny answers:

spinjonrn9.jpg

"There are only 24 hours in the day," Buckland says. "How much hype do we really need?" Nobody answers, and Buckland adds, quietly but firmly, "I'll do it all, for now. But on tour I'm done. That's it, I'm not doing anything."

I love this man. :smug:

Angie, this pic you have as your avatar is scarily arousing:wink3::wink3:

That's Jonny's "Ian best give us Today Show tickets or else" face. :laugh3:

hee hee:lol:

:laugh3: fabulous! i hope that photo scares him into giving them to both you and me!

(i mean, if i were ian, i'd want at least a few oldie diehard coldplayers there rather than just all noobs...:sneaky: :P)

I just have to win because all the screamers will be there for Chris and someone has to be representing the Jonny love. :bigcry:

Do you check your email every 5 minutes in case Ian does a MSG thing and sends out the emails the day before? Cause I do.

Aww. 33 or however old they'll be is far too young to be retiring, maybe they'll change their minds. :idea2:

At the very least they'll have two more albums left in them, minimum. I'm not worried.
