i know what you mean. the release of the german version is on feb. 14th and i can't wait. i haven't read the english one but i hope it will all come to a good end....

I've read all books but did not like it. Although i love fantasy, could not enjoy it that much. It's too sweety sweet to me :D

I've read Twilight and New Moon.

Stephenie Meyer writes like if she was a completely amateur writer, and the plot is not very impressive. I hate them, not my cup of tea. Plus very superficial relations.

 

However, the thing that I dislike the most is their popularity, and how all girls always come with the absurd statement: "OH TWILIGHT IS THE BEST BOOK SERIES EVER WRITTEN" which obviously isn't.

 

Well... at least more teens have started to read. But I hope they don't get stuck here.

I've read all of them, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

I read them in english, and I liked them a lot! Probably best books in the world. Even better than Harry Potters.

 

Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse are released in finnish too, but I glanced them thourgh and I didn't like it.. They were so.. boring and.. just colourless. Although I like reading in finnish, but twilight.. no thanks. I prefer them in english.

 

And I have also seen the movie, it was kind of good. Probably made for people who haven't read the book. And Edward is cool, but I think Jasper is cooler 8)

I find a lot of the pull for girls is how Edward is described. He is deliberately described to be wonderful, perfect, the most divine specimen of male vampire you have ever seen. Even his friggin' BREATH is like "so cool and fresh". Gag. Next Stephanie will be describing how perfect his toe hairs are. DO NOT WANT

 

The reading is tolerable but I too don't think it's up to scratch for a professional writer. I would be okay with it if she was like a teen writing for somewhere like fanfiction.net or some crap. I feel sorry for the real fans that AREN'T the 80% that are simply deluded, however.

Oooh, I forgot to point out. In the movie, Rosalie had a very good point, but no, because it doesn't allow Edward and Bella to be TOGETHAR FOREVAR they made her seem like a bitch. Had they had LISTENED to her Bella wouldn't have nearly DIED. :shame:

the movie stunk

 

the books are great but ive read better stories

 

the best of the books is eclipse because of the balance between Edward and Jacob

 

I'm team Jacob because i hate the music that Edward likes: check the bottom of page 286 and the top of page 287 in twilight or u can just read this: "Music in the fifties was good. Much better than music in the sixties, or the seventies, UGH!" He shuttered. "the eighties were bearable"

 

I like that stephenie likes coldplay and muse

 

i really think that there are better things out there than twilight like the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (btw that book is the reason coldplay wrote 42)

I want to chat on here too but I'm not done with Breaking Dawn yet. I'm barely on Chapter 2 and I don't want to read it anymore. She just married Edward.......

Breaking Dawn finally came out in paperback and I've read it :D can now go back through the thread and read the conversation!!

When does Eclipse come out on DVD, does anyone know? :wacko:

I know!:bigcry: I actually almost cried when I read the end! But I'm sure that when Stephenie writes more from someone else's point of view like she has said that it will more than likely be about Renesmee and Jacob, so hopefully Edward and Bella will still be involved in someway. I think they'll be back. :smug: I absolutely loved the way everything worked out for everyone but I was really surprised at most of it. (Renesmee!!!) :stunned: I didn't see that coming at ALL!

 

 

Oh, I am so gald I didn't know about it because it would have ruined the whole book for me. I was like no way! :D I was really happy though and then I didn't figure out Jacob imprinting either until the last second and I just was laughing like crazy! I couldn't believe it! I mean if they have kids is it going to be human/vampire/werewolf?

 

 

Didn't see the pregnancy coming at all, until the morning sickness bit. I like Nessie she seems very cute. but don't like the Jacob imprinting on her thing. its too complicated, but I guess it made sense so the rest of the story could pull together. it all seems a little incestuous some how.

 

 

I'm glad Bella & edward dind't die but am still miffed that Bella became a vampire so soon.

 

The Alice thing didn't work for me, I didn't believe for a second that she & Jasper would abandon the Cullens.

So the amazing reappearance fell a bit flat.

 

Rosalie's bonding with Bella was a bit creepy but fit with my interpretation of her. Although I'm glad for her sake that the pregnancy worked out ok so she has a baby to focus her maternal side on.
